Another winner -- great photos!

question: why not try to customize up that white double-tank scuba set? possibly using some of those 1:18 fire extinguishers?

That's a good point and good idea. Also, it may be just be the extent of the orange in use on the dive suit, but this was the first post where I felt that (beyond the necessary plain quality we discussed before) a couple extra details could be useful in pulling off the homage. The tanks being one, the lack of the AT logo on the suit (at least as compared to original box art) being a big one, and perhaps just a little bit of black details on the suit itself to break up the orange (again, going off box art).

I seriously hope Hasbro doesn't get any ideas from this thread.
If they started putting out stuff like this, I would be spending WAY more on Joe stuff than I really should be.

Thanks guys. This Adventurer was one of the first figures that I did for this project. Now that I have access to wave 3.5 tooling, I may go back and swap the whole torso for an Ultimate Snake Eyes one. That will ''remove'' the shoulder details and give me a nice spot to put an AT logo. For the tanks, for some reason, it didn't even occur to me to modify them (duh), but it should be pretty simple to do. So i guess this one will have a part 2 ;-)

Day 22 is up with a not-so-pygmy pygmy gorilla.

The "Not So Pygmy Gorilla" set is fantastic! Where did the boat come from? Another brilliant set, OB! And by the way, I am another one of the huge fans of this thread, and look forward to each day's new custom.

Damn. Hasbro needs to do these for the 50th. I love 'em.

Makes me want G.I. Joe mission sets.

I'm not sure what the brand was, but the boat came from a discount store hunting set. Aside from the boat, the set included a pickup truck, a trailer, a figure (or two) and some hunting rifles.

Found it: http://www.amazon.com/Hunting-Playset-P ... B005001MHA

Fantastic Sea Wolf!
Your action shots remind me of some of the old catalog pictures.

Great, great, great! I feel like a broken record, telling you how much I like this thread and the customs you've put in it, but I can't stress it enough how much I enjoy seeing your 50th Tribute items! I'll be back tomorrow...

That Sea Wolf is awesome. Do you have a pic of the Animal Planet mini-sub? I'm unfamiliar with it.

Here you go: http://www.amazon.ca/Animal-Planet-Sper ... B00BGYOW4Y

Animal Planet is exclusive to TRU. I'm not sure if the Sperm Whale set is discontinued or just out of stock, but I couldn't find it on their website.

Well done, sir.

You are a master at painting white and yellows. They come out looking as though they were molded in that color.
