Yes. I always thought of that with Borovia, especially since the initial mission is for them to blend in as diplomats.

I figured that Hama had a list of characters he was permitted to use for certain scenarios.

The Outback obviously has a non-removable helmet so that zombies don't eat his brains, duh.

I think it was a testament to the artist that you could tell them apart. Snowjob combed his hair, Outback didn't.

For me...being the insane Outback fan that I am...the head kills it because it looks too different. The hodge-podging gear look works, but the head hides too much personality.

I think that head works fine as Ozone; my main point was the AT head is lacking. Something about it just looks odd; the sleepy eyes or the big lips or the two combined. I think a better Joe Colton head would be the vintage casting used by OB with a beard sculpted on.

I'm pretty sure that's just what the Club's head is, a shrunk down version of the original 12" G.I. Joe head with the beard and hair sculpted rather than flocked. Same as OB's which is the 12" Joe/AT head sans beard shrunk down.

Then why does OB's look so much better?

Probably because the Club's has most likely been photoshopped like they do with a lot of their product photos. The Club's is a factory finished figure where OB's is hand painted. Take that factory sheen off the Club's version and I think you'd be surprised how good it could look.

And honestly, I think they both look good. They are, in my opinion, accurate 4" representations of the 12" heads.

Nah, it was pretty decent actually. Succinct and to the point, without a lot of useless gumflapping like some.

I think the head on the Joe Colton figure is good for what it is supposed to do, which is honor the 50th Anniversary of the 12" GI Joe. If this was supposed to be an updated 4" version of Joe Colton, then yes it has some issues. It's really the only figure I have seen so far from this Con that I would spend $50 on. Unfortunately, it will most likely go for more than that.

Because his was made out of joy and a passion for the work.

The Club's in a mass produced effort.

I'm kind of glad Outback is so fugly. That was the one figure that could've made me reconsider spending money on a set this year. As it stands, he's just solidified my decision to pass.

The vest is baffling. It covers up the only element thaat identifies him as Outback. Then thereks the hat and earmuffs and night vision goggles. Just not sure why he'd have all that going on.

I bet the torso and arms would look good bashed onto different legs and with a new head. But I can't spend that much on fodder for a custom that probably wouldn't look as good as the one I already have.

you know I'm not so sure that's all. First I don't know exactly how the club went about doing theirs, but I do know that when you shrink cast a sculpt, one person's effort to do so might produce something sized differently than another person's attempt. And I'm pretty sure that the heads OB used were a tick larger than the club's version.

The other reason it looks weird is that not every head looks ok on that buck. The suited torso was originall made for ROC Destro, and the neck ball sits really low. So you have to use a pretty full sized head/shallow socket to have it sit right.

I wonder what head OB had shrunk. The Club used a Hasbro 40th head and it has a sleepy eye look. If OB used a Timeless Collection head or even a vintage head it, they do not have the sleepy look.
