I am easing myself back into the hobby. Going to start posting all of the parts I have assembled to make either figures or sets in this thread. I will update it as I work through them..

To start off, I am looking to make this. Another one my father and I were throwing ideas at each other for:

Image

Already started on the two figures: a sergeant and an officer. The sergeant is based on the Action Man set, the officer is basically parts from various Action Man outfits.:

I am using a PTE jeep which I have disassembled ready for priming:

The red bits in the bag are Action Force Q-Force sten guns. The larger guns are the guns that came with the Star Wars Sandtroper figures. They are unmodified Lewis guns, whuich are contemporary for a WWII SAS desert jeep. Using Marauder jerry cans, of course.

I can't take credit for it. I borrowed the idea from Fritzkrieg.

Meant to post this pic during CC8, but never got around to it. Going to be the Argyll and Sutherland Highlander:

How easy is it to disassemble the PTE jeep?

I was looking at one on the shelf at Big Lots on Monday and held off buying it because I wasn't sure I could use it for something.

Very easy. There are about a half dozen screws underneath holding the chassis to the body. The seats are held on by clips. Just need to pinch together the underside to releasse them. Same with the wheels. I had it disassembled in about five minutes.

Did some sculpting on teh legs and torso of the HIghlander this afternoon. Printing out the pattern for the socks later.

SElected the parts for another 'Action Man' set

That's good to hear.

Are you doing any massive cutting or just painting?

Doesn't need any cutting, just bits added on and painting. Bought two of them for extra wheels and other parts.

Quick update. Made a mold and cast of the Indiana Jones Russian soldier head and ground down the inner top part of the cap.

I am so glad I started this thread. Started work on a new custom on Friday. Finished the head as all it needed was a new cap badge and a repaint. I assembled the torso and legs yesterday. Took a pic and turns out everything is wonky. Started taking the torso and legs apart and found out that the milliput had not cured properly:

Working out the kinks on it now.

Currently working on three figures:

Image

L - R: 17th/21st Lancer, Royal Navy Sailor, Royal Military Police (head finished)

I am currently waiting for a pack of sheets of inkjet cotton to make an accessory for the Lancer and a uniform piece for the Sailor. Already printed out the armband and sergeants stripes for the MP.
