Something you probably don't know about me--I love mid-century design and architecture--"googie" style to be exact.
Googie is best known for coffee shops and bowling alleys from the 50s and 60s.
I decided my next big diorama project would be building a joe-scale googie coffee shop. Below are pictures to give you an idea of the design.
Realistically it will be half the size of an actual restaurant--I'm thinking L-shape counter with seats for 5 or 6, and about 5 or 6 booths and a narrow kitchen space.
Here's an interior picture to give you an idea of a look.
Most of this is going to be scratch built but some stuff I think would be better to find from a play-set or the like and steal parts.
One thing I know will be looking for are entrance doors. So far the leading contender is the Lil Bratz High school playset.
I think they look a leetle big, but anything else I can think of (Sweet Streets, Playmobil) might be too short.
So if anyone has any ideas or advice. I'd really appreciate it.
