I think people have really steered away from Wreckage being the unreleased character. At the time he was released, the only image online was a black & white one on yojoe. I believe that was used for reference, because in color a lot of the choices made for Wreckage are just wrong. So it seems more accurate to differentiate the original Sabre Tooth from the effort to release him (Wreckage) that didn't turn out quite right.
