Plus it is designed thinking of walking dead zombies. If you ended up with I am legend or WWZ zombies then there would need to be some modifications.

Its purpose is to mow through herds of Zombies to make a path. It has no real need for speed (accept open road). It would not be chasing or chased, just path cutting. Essentially a battering ram.

That being said I think I know the name of the vehicle now.

blood splatter testing

opinions invited. Keep in mind that it will be much more subtle when it is on dark dingy blue rather then on this bright white styrene.

Gruesome. Looks good. If you have any liquid green stuff, that would add some nice texture.

It's a substance that can be painted on with a brush to fill holes or add texture, I use it for beards, it's super easy to use. You can even thin it out with water if you need to.

Looks good. I'd suggest a second spray with a darker red, to give it color texture.

a darker second coat of red may be a good idea. Phranto suggested blue compound Z splatters as well.

The effect looks great. I've found that I like brown (Citadel Scorched Brown, now Rhinox Hide) more than true reds for zombie gore.

So my suggestion would be a much darker red or even brown. Most of the blood on there's going to be older (darker), but a few brighter red splotches might make contrast nicely for "fresher kills", especially with a little gloss just on those spots.

I'm really excited to see this one finished, the mods and scratch building are amazing.

I also like the Compound Z idea, as well as Dusty's suggestion for a little liquid green stuff (or anything to thicken the blood/paint a little) so it's got some texture. Just depends how gross and gorey you want to go with it.

Looks like in addition to the liquid green stuff, they also have a technical paint specifically for adding blood effects. Looks good and dark, too. Dunno if you use Citadel paints, I've been very pleased with them but they are more expensive than craft store acrylics.

We are to the point in the build (painting) where I start procrastinating. The build is fun,the painting less so. Still have a few details to add but it is pretty close to being ready to paint.

Most important thing is this build has given me the confidence to scratch build a MASK Rhino. This one is just slightly short for scale. To truly be in scale it needed to be about 4 inches longer and the wheels needed to be just slightly larger. Compared to other GI Joe vehicles this one is going to close enough to scale but when I start on the Rhino I will go slightly longer. The nice thing about Rhino is the transformation looks pretty easy. The thunder machine has to be one of the most useful vehicle bodies for vehicle customs.

Bits and pieces

First is the Generator which will go on the Driver side.

And the ATV which has been fortified and will be kept on the back of the truck to be used for supply runs.

That's some impressive work on the blood splatter! The way you did it is very convincing, though I agree with the others about the tone of the red.

I've seen people use this combination for realistic "fresh" blood:
Tamiya Clear Red + Games Workshop Badab Black.

Games Workshop has a paint called "Blood for the Blood God", designed for blood effects.

I like the ATV's roll cage. I'm reserving comments on the main vehicle until you get a chance to paint it the blood again.

Thanks the pattern was the easy part because I just let the blades do it like they normally would.
