Yeah, that's the guy I don't like at all. His colorscheme, his overall design, nothing works. He's gonna get sacrificed to the X-Acto god somehow.

I thought you said you liked him before? I think Gatack is the highlight of this assortment and I'll get to him tomorrow.

Yeah, since I don't know these guys at all, I now I'm confusing. Sorry, bro. But that guy's just butt-ass ugly all over the place. I do like how the cape and shoulder flaps all work (articulated capes are something Hasbro should look into), but that guy's just not working well in the design dept at all. :-/

FWIW, here's what I think of them, with Momtaros being the best fig in the set despite his hand/accessory issues.

And if I wasn't clear enough beforehand, the guy in the bottom left is the one that was duped in my set. Liftoff will be getting him next time I pay him a visit.

If you've actually SEEN Den-O, you wouldn't insult Vega Form, as Vega Form/Deneb is the best character in the whole damn show.

Well, not really insulting him so much as his fashion sense. Lots of cool characters have horrid outfits. Do I need to point out half the COBRA heirarchy? :-P

Well my week at the office is over, TGIF.

Let's start the weekend with some promised pictures.

First lets start with the magnet figures.

Image

Image

Image

They stand roughly an inch shorter than your average Joe. Even though they are neatly articulated, they dont mix quite well.

Now here are some Banpresto figures that are 3 3/4 but are articulated like a basic SW figure.

Image

Image

Here's another Kamen Rider Ichigo made by Banpresto except that this one is better articulated
Image

He's articulated at the head, shoulders, elbows which also swivel, hips and knees.

Here's a Kamen Rider Black i made using gashapon parts and a microman body, simple yet effective (and dusty)
Image

Speaking of microman, I also made Akaranger the original red fighter also mixing gashapon parts and two microman bodies
Image

While we're on the subject of red warriors here's a few of mine which is a mix of sentai figures from japan and some pr figures from the states. In the left lower corner you will see the banpresto 3 3/4 Gorangers.
Image

Hope you enjoyed!

Is that Jiraiya I see! Which figure is that? Not the funky stretchy version they released out here, is it? I see you also have the Rouser Box Blade figure. I bashed mine with Microman parts and Kotobukiya joints. Didn't turn out too well. Kind of wish I hadn't done that now. And, are my eyes deceiving me or are those vintage Popy Jetman toys?

Yes it is Jiraiya. Its a 2 3/4 figure that I bought from France. It not the rubbery figure but a neatly articulated one. Bandai released about 6 of those figures.

In the upper corner it is some vintage diecast figures of Jetman, Kakuranger, Dairanger and Liveman.
The boxes all have the Bandai logo though. You can also see the die cast Maskman to the right, but he's box less.

I'm pretty sure Popy had been a subsidiary of Bandai or something. I'm not too knowledgeable on them. But still, that's a nice bit of vintage funk right there. I think the only vintage Japanese toy from 80s I've got is a High Complete Model L-Gaim Mk.II.

Alright, back on topic. It's not Gatack, but its a decent figure in its own right. Next up is Den-O Wing Form. It only shows up for less than a minute in the tv show but has what I'm sure is a much bigger role in the move(I haven't seen it yet). Wing form is the result of the hero, Ryoutaro merging with the Imagin, Seig that is not contracted to him. Seig exhibited special abilities other Imagin did not have which enabled him to possess Ryoutaro despite being contracted to someone else. Wing Form's abilities were never fully shown in show since Seig began to disintegrate before he could really do much of anything.

I'm of the suspicion that Wing form is actually a kit-bashed costume made from extra Sword Form parts and leftovers of Kamen Rider Drake's mask. It really doesn't seem to have a lot of effort given to it. As such, the figure itself is completely re-used from Sword Form aside from its head, weapons, and waist piece. Weapons are new and are the Dengasher in tomahawk mode and boomerang mode. I don't know why, but I really like his weapons. If you liked the Sword mode figure, you'll probably like this one too.

So, I'm looking at this page with pics of the wave 3 guys, and I notice what appear to be packages for the wave 1 guys (the boxes my wave 1 guys didn't look like these at all).. And these have pics of other guys saying stuff; and I wonder who they are and what our chances of getting any of them are. So, who are they, and what are our chances of getting them?

Those boxes are from the H.G.C.O.R.E. line(and I have no clue what the acronym stands for). They're unposeable but highly detailed little figures. The monster dudes are Ryoutaro's other three Imagin who are, from left to right: Urataros, Kintaros, and Ryutaros with Momotaros being the fourth. These guys possess Ryoutaro whenever he chooses one of Den-O's four base forms. Momotaros controls Sword form, Urataros gets Rod form, Kintaros gets Axe form, and Ryutaros gets Gun form. Seeing as we got Momotaros, I'd say our chances of getting the other three are pretty high, especially if there are more waves planned. Though, I think Deneb is probably more likely.

Deneb, the guy forming with 'Kamen Bling' to make pistol fingers for shoulder pads and the face on his chest? The fig I don't like much? Meh. Here's hoping for many waves on into the future so we can get all the Imagin, then.

I received my order of wave 1 and 2 I can't wait to have yesterday.
First of all let me thank Marasai for telling us about those great figures.
When I first saw them online, I though they would be too short like so many rider figures before, so I passed on them.

Now that I have them, I'm very happy. The paint, the articulations, everything about those figure is great! Of course the best feature is that they are the same size as my joes.

I can't wait to receive my original wave figures to add more 1/18 riders to the ranks.
I'll post pictures when they arrive since we only saw Marasai's Blade and Ryuki.

Sorry for those who don't care about this topic,
but I received the original wave last week from japanesetoylink.com
For those interested in those figures, they are still available there, but their stock are low. Its the only place where I've been able to find them.

In my case : Faiz, Faiz Accel Form, 2x Blade, 2x Blade Jack Form, Garren, Garren Jack Form, Ryuki and Knight.

These figures are slightly smaller (1/8" shorter) than the Motion Revive and like Marasai pointed out, they don't sport the double jointed elbows and shoulders.

The paint job, articulations and accessories on those figures are awesome!

I'll post pictures and reviews as soon as I have more time.
