The other day I added two new designs to the site. The first is based on unused, unclear Barbecue Mega Marines concept art. Followed by a warm weather version of Iceberg.

A new update should be up later today or tomorrow! And if you have anything to say about the update, please leave a comment on the blog.

That is an epic baroness. Love the spirit too, though he's got a sad face. The Roadblock is likewise perfect, and could pretty much be the card art.

I wonder if this is a new source for custom card art. Since you can output to transparent, it's pretty easy to place one of these over the standard "blast" blank.

I'm digging your designs, raps. Curious though, how do you decide how you'll do the hands? Any particular reason some have the open palms like Budo?

Honestly, it's because I don't like them always being in the "two fists down" position all the time, and there's a really limited ability to change the upper arms without messing up the upper clothing.

I've done a few with the arms in different positions, but that takes a long time to do. The easiest thing to do to change it up is to change the hands. The choice to do a certain hand is generally driven by what kind of sleeve they have, and weather they are using gloves or not. The base hand in flesh doesn't always work with all the sleeves, so the "thumbs up" and "open hand" are good dynamic hand poses that also have the benefit of covering up a bad sleeve transition.

I try to make the position make sense to the figure - Budo looks like he might be sizing someone up to deliver an open hand slap. Upright, that hand kind of looks like a "Halt" sign that I used with my cobra troopers.

There are a lot of limitations to the tool, but working around them is fun if a little tough sometimes.

And that is a waaaaaay too long answer to a simple question.

TL;DR: I don't want all of them in the same position, but there are only so many things you can do to make them look distinct - hands are the easiest one.

That's cool. Is this kind of a new outlet for you since Rit dye no longer works?

This is my attempt at an original character.

He was abandoned outside a church in Europe as an infant when it was discovered he had a growth issue, raised by a circus family. Turned to crime and used his stature and gymnastic skills to gain entry to targets. Joined the Dreadnoks.

He has a special harness that allows Road Pig to grip him at the back of the neck and waist to toss him at enemies or up to windows to break into buildings or over security fences.

(A character I created a few years ago to add to the Dreadnok ranks, I saw him as a combination between Wee Man. POTC's Marty, and many of the characters performed by Peter Dinklage. I realize *tossing* of little persons is not exactly PC, but the Dreadnoks aren't PC in the first place. I figure after he gets tossed, he uses his circus skills to prevent injury and doesn't let his size be a hindrance. The Noks may exploit his stature, but Mongrel is right there actively participating in many nefarious deeds)

Not sure why the right boot disappeared, I couldn't get it to show up.

EDIT: Apparently both boots disappeared after saving. Oh well...

Lol.

This is cheap therapy. But I am working with the tool to try to understand it better. I have an agreement with HeroMachine.com to use the images that I create in my games. They are letting me use it free of charge, which is pretty damned nice of them (though I am going to spring for a premium membership).

My other hobby gig is designing boardgames for Raptorforge.com - Who incidentally just launched a new board game called Ryeday (shameless plug). I am planning to use the Heromachine for a card game that I am developing, and to revamp an old one. So really, this is just practice for my other job. ;-)
