I really like the figures and am a 4" action figure collector more than I am a just a g.i.joe guy. it is frustrating though to see the ones you want more being the harder far more expensive ones to get. im looking at that 115$ tier and will probably give in but its still not an easy price for me and really its just 2 figures and 2 repaints. I want those blanks and those skeletons.

Fantasy figures would be so much cooler than the spartans

Man, I think they worked for Hasbro for too long.
The first wave is nice, but the really good stuff will come in the later waves.

Is there a way to just get just the Medusa and the Coral Snake?

I didn't see (may have missed it) the Gorgon with the legs.

EDIT: Nevermind, it's the Pre-Curse Medusa @$25 each.

EDIT 2: I appreciate the Spartan figures and the effort done, I just can't get into them. I have no place for them in my collection, and can't justify a contribution to fund for stuff I don't want just to see what Wave 3 or Wave 4 and on would be.

I may just go for a Medusa, since I could easily use her as Golobulus's daughter-some type of Cobra-La character.

Yup, it's funded. And with more than a month to go, it's getting more and more tempting to change my pledge from Spartan Army to All In.

As they approach the $105,000 stretch goal with 2 repaints (plus the pre-curse "human" Medusa at $90k), the "All-In" level is going to be more appealing. Otherwise, if the project levels out at $89k, that's a whopping $70/figure, which is a bit high. I bumped mine up a little, but I've got to see some stretch goals on the horizon before going all-in.

You know what else might have been cool: figure parts. Let's say you buy some Coral Snake Gorgon warriors. If you could buy the female lower half, they could be humanoid, too. It'd be an easier cross-sell with sci-fi fans than the serpent body, I think.

As much as I'd like to support this Kickstarter, I think the pricing is just too high for what you get. In comparison to the Marauder Task Force Kickstarter, this one just feels overpriced. I feel like $30 a figure is just too much for what you get. If that's the price they are in their store then I'll pass for sure. If it were a theme that interested me more I might be a little more forgiving. But I'm not big on the whole Greek warrior stuff and I really don't like the idea of contributing to this and getting something I'm not really into in the hopes of getting something I'd be more interested in in the future.

I'm glad they hit their goal and I wish them well but this just isn't for me.

This a common complaint.

Andrew and Erik and the folks have addressed this, and many other questions/complaints, both in their Kickstarter FAQ as well as the Boss Fight Facebook page. Rather than try to summarize or reiterate what they've already written, I will just suggest you go read them before making up your mind.

Seems like people are thinking of Kickstarter more of a store and what they're buying, instead of what they're supporting. You're not buying anything at all. You're supporting a campaign to help build a company. Sort of you being a part of that company. The "kicker", is the bonus you get for your pledge, a thank you for supporting their dreams. It's like we're the bankers and we're giving them the loan to start up their small business, in return, instead of them paying us back the loan, they give us a little something.

If it's not for you, it's not for you, and maybe down the road, they're able to make something that is for you.

Wow. That's probably the best way I've ever heard this described!

Well Done, Sir!

edit: Kickstarter isn't a store (like SteamPunk Michael says,) it's more like grassroots venture capitalism, and instead of receiving dividends, you get products for your investment.

edit2: wait, I think that's what exactly SPM said ... :tictoc:

this is my like button.

I like the figures and would love to support this, but some of us really cant afford to spend/pledge that much and not even get the stuff we want most. and seriously they can keep their shirts and prints.

I am by no means able to fully support this as much as I'd love to. You'd all be stuck with whatever head sculpt I wanted on a later figure if that were the case and I'm pretty sure it would be a unicorn head because my daughter wants a unicorn figure. :D

So I contributed what made financial sense for me (and my birthday). :shifty: Even Boss Fight Studio knows not everyone has the money or ability to contribute. They also realize not everyone will be into the Greek myths their characters are derived from. That's why people are talking about later themes and skeletons, because this is the starting point for other stuff. These are the same people who sculpted the heads for the Club fro the past two years. They designed most of the store exclusives while at Hasbro including Dollar General Joes, Kmart Iron Man 3 packs, and Target Captain America 2 packs. Most of the Rise of Cobra and Retaliation vehicle sticker sheets too including my favorite one ever.

4 inch figures are getting less shelf space and less articulation these days. So my personal support for Boss Fight isn't out of some desire to be in their good graces. It is because I know them and what they are capable of. I know what they want to achieve and I want to see them succeed with that vision. If you can contribute with money, great, they'll take it. If not, but you still want to help them, then help spread the word. Make sure you chime in where ever you see it discussed. Post about it in groups and sites where it isn't being discussed.

And if you don't like Boss Fight and don't want them to succeed with this line, well, too late. They already met their goal and are trying to get those blanks aka customizers' dreams and skeletons to happen.
