If I just get a movie that is a mix of Gi Joe #21 and the GI Joe annual #2 (or even just issues #6&7) I'd be happy. It would even be cool to set the GI joe movie in the 1980s instead of keeping it modern

I think they should try adapting one of the well-regarded classic Hama stories. Maybe even something out of Special Missions over the main title.
I'd say the Borovian saga but they hit a lot of the same notes in Retaliation.
