Yeah, totally. They're easier to pull off than a lot of Joe hands I've swapped out. The elbows are the same way.

Rocket is an interesting idea, and that Camper looks like Grandpa Max got his RV seriously upgraded.

Quick WIP update - still very rough, and the paint is just sampling, nothing more.

Still need to check out the CoD figures and see about an arm swap. But at least he is progressing.

Rocket is coming along nicely, but AT-RV for the win.

Ohhh man. That looks great.

I started a movie Gamora...so I'm sure I'll be looking at this when it comes time to try a movie Rocket.

thanks guys.

quick update. Not sure that I like this yet, but so far it's the best I've got. arm articulation via CoD figure.

Look-wise, the original arms I had were best (once I sculpted fur on them, as planned). but they were too thin to add real elbow articulation to.

So I picked up on Hypno's advice, but found the CoD arms too big, at least as intended. After playing around a bit and butchering more than a couple of the figures, I found that if I used forearm pieces for the shoulders, the size shrunk enough to maybe work.

Image

The hands on those thing don't work, so I haphazardly fused some Hobbit hands onto the CoD peg (will pretty those up in a bit).

So I don't love it, but for articulation's sake, it's better than where it was.

Now, I think I'm going to try to shave down the arms to make them thinner, then lightly sculpt some fur over that.

Anyone got a better idea?

Drbindy I love all your stuff, but I have to agree that I am not a fan of that arm set. I have a couple of Star Trek (Bones and Sulu) figures I'll send you if you want to try those arms. They have wrist, shoulder and elbow articulation, are thin enough you can mold on top of, are a soft enough plastic that you could shorten them or leave alone. You might even be able to use Sulu's legs for arms but you'd have to fuse shoulder articulation to them.

The figures are from the new Star Trek the Movie Playmates line. They may be a little long (1 3/8"), but seem like they would be very easy to shorten at the forearm and bicep to length for what you want and still retain all the articulation.

Ok I gotcha. Yeah I have oodles of those. Waay bigger than the arms I'm using here, but I appreciate the idea.
