thanks guys, it meens a lot to me!

yes ,the knife is a nail rolled out, then shaped and drilled the holes. it took several attempts and finally a very large nail to get it right! i then wrapped the handle with black thred and painted with clear fingernail polish and some black paint touch ups.

my wife also said he needs the book :) it's in the bag!

the sleeves are heat shrink tubing, used for electrical splices. i slipped them over the arms and used a hair dryer to shrink them randomly to look like hanging fabric. i still need to sort out a way to make them bend with the arms and stay bent.

recipe is pretty simple. base figure is a 1983 doc v1. lower legs are from an outback that was some kind of exclusive, just to add some height and the bunched pant legs are accurate.
the coat came off a hunger games figure, roo? i think. and i sculpted the long sweatshirt. the rest is paint and that majic we all love so much, lighting!

some alternate views and a new background. both backgrounds were in a large coffeetable picture book from the thrift store, great resource!

started yet another wip last night .... i was looking through my fodder trying to come up with the parts for a mid 90's marilyn manson, i was kind of close but the torso was just too masculine, that's when this custom fell into place.... lots of detail left to do, but i am really digging it :)

i sculpted a shotty last night with the inner part of a ballpoint pen as barrels, luckily the version 2 fits this scale much better. it is made from a potc musket pistol and finishing nails cut down as barrels.

please critique and give advise on where to work on next. i am still looking for a fix for eli's sleeves, any help apreciated!

Since you don't really need the sleeves to be removable, what about cutting each into two parts? Glue each part to the arm underneath, leaving a little bit of overlap that isnt't glued down, to still cover the joint visibly but without actually hindering it.

today i have been finishing up and shooting my pulp fiction set. i think the sterling silver pistols bring some realism to the shots. please let me know what you think.

stayed up late working on these.

thanks so much for the sleeve idea drbindy. i was careful to make the cuts on the same angle. no glue was used on this pose, it may be necissary in the future.

this was my first time pulling off and transfering a holster and knife sheath. also a first for me was a magnet in the theigh of mad max to hold the shotty.

that worked then for Eli? cool.

I dig the overall pulp fiction feel. I mean you're obviously going for stylized with the drawn details in the room. If you were going for realism, then I'd critique it... lol. But for what it is, there's something about that which seems a bit like a drawing come to life.

Eli turned out really well.

I'm not sold on that head for Mad Max. Just too darn chipper.

Are you doing any other characters from Pulp Fiction? For Travolta I might have went with black hair and then did a dry brushing of brown on top. I think straight brown is too light for the toy at this scale.

thanks mjtanner!

yup drb you nailed it on the sleeve fix. stylized is a good word for it, post modern pop comic would be correct aswell :)

i can see where you are coming from on mad max pluv, maybe i can ugly him up some. i know the 5 o'clock shodow is way too dark. maybe some dark eyes.... i had travoltas hair black at one point, just didn't show the detail that i had sculpted/carved very well. i think you are correct though, in most of the source material i saw much more black in his hair. it is a dark movie though. i know my main source pic for him was backlit and very brown.

oh and i had plans for butch, but that head might get used for a diehard bruce willis.
