Oh! I completely forgot about that figure! Means all three in that set will make it out. That figure will be very tempting then. Wish Executioner from the Thor set would make it out.

This. Absolutely, this.

He was the only one from either of the two cancelled sets that I really wanted. So of course he is, thus far, the only one not released or announced/hinted at being released.

Out of curiosity, what would be an inspired assortment to you?

It really wouldn't make any sense for it to be anything else.

There are some core characters that need to get made and others that should really be fixed from their earlier incarnations.

Among new figures we need (I'll highlight five they could easily do in a wave with minimal new tooling required):

    Beast (non-furry)
Black Knight 1 (Masters of Evil)
    Blink
    Executioner
    Forge
    Gorgon
    Iceman (de-iced)
    Kingpin
    Mimic
    Mojo
    Sabretooth (original costume)
    Sasquatch
    Scorpion (classic look)
    Snowbird
    Shaman
    Tigra
    Triton
    Vindicator

Figures they should really redo/fix (and could easily):

Black Panther (classic or modern on new buck)
Cyclops (classic look on new buck)
The Fantastic Four (on new bucks and in matching outfits)
Hydra Soldiers (classic look on new buck)
Magneto (classic look on new buck)
    Moon Knight
Nick Fury (classic look on new buck)
SHIELD Agents (male and female, classic look, new bucks)
    Silver Surfer

However, increasingly its looking like the odds of getting any of these figures with the height of the line's articulation is dwindling, hence my waning interest.

Emma might be a nice figure, though.

I would be all over just about any of those figures you listed, SD. I wish they'd fix Moon Knight. It really isn't a great figure. Black Panther from the Avengers Assemble light up base set isn't bad, though. It really surprises me that a few you listed haven't been made yet. Like Kingpin.

yeah, I was going to say that light up base BP is about as good as you're going to get, shy of lots of accessories, alternate heads and such. If these were simply treated as 4" scale Legends efforts, there would be very few complaints.

The Black Panther from the single card wave was far more posable than the later ones. Beefy, yes, but he has a very respectable articulation. Was almost, almost, going to take him and turn him into a better made Batman, given how beefy they are making the Dark Knight in the Arkham runs.

The wave of Avengers Assemble figures that has Nick Fury, Leader, Hawkeye and Thor showed up at Five Below. Just thought you guys might want to know, since I never saw a single figure of that wave at retail before the other day. I had to buy my Leader for $11 on eBay, and there he was on the pegs for $5. Oh well.

That's good for people who haven't found one yet.
I think the only retailer who had those at all were Toys R Us.

I got DeathsHead from Amazon yday (Hell yeah for Sunday delivery) and he's beautifully painted (probably simply because they didn't put any of their horrid paintwashes on him). I can appreciate the good issues he has, but hotsummabiatch am I sick of the lack of real effort on this line. The weapons won't stay stuck in the shield, which won't stay stuck in his back; and the lack of plugs to connect the chest overlay/cape to the chest is flat-out incompetence if you're not gonna spend for the glue.

This line feels like the team works on it only on Fridays after lunch.

Thanks for the heads up! I found Leader at one Five Below on my way home, and picked up Nick Fury and Hawkeye too because why not at that price? I think Fury's head sculpt looks like Terry Crews with an eyepatch.

This might not be quite the right place for this, but it looks like there were some Guardians of the Galaxy figures made in 1/18 scale. But, they're really bad.
