Same here. Most of my SW figures became bathtub toys since they didn't have any metal screws. Boba Fett made a heck of a cool scuba diver along the adventure people.

Scuba Fett, the little-known youngest clone of Jango Fett that got a degree in Marine Biology.

If my memory's not clunky, it was a bunch of second-handers from 85 and 86.

Barbecue, Sci-Fi, Crimson Guard, Tomax and Xamot, Frostbite (with Snow Job's ski gear, inexplicably) and Mainframe.

1982 -- Snake-Eyes and Flash, purchased at the same time. I bought Flash because I liked the idea of a Laser Rifle Trooper, and he looked fancy enough that if I wasn't impressed with G.I. Joe (which, obviously, I ultimately was), I could probably squeeze him into my Star Wars collection, and there was something interesting about the all-black commando named Snake-Eyes. Little did I know, right?

Firefly, Dusty, and Buzzer all run together as my first Joes. They still reign as favorites.

I've posted this before, but for the new people... I got the full line. I was sick at home from school and went to the doctor. There was a store along the trip my mom liked to go to. The commercial for the comic had already been on tv and I was looking for the comic. I never found issue #1, but there they were. All the new GIJoe figures. I didn't even know there were going to be figures too! So naturally I wanted them. The vehicles were not there, but I got those later as well as issue #1.

Can't remember if I posted in this thread or not. My first figure was Grunt from a Mervyn's store. I knew nothing about GI JOE. I picked him for two reasons: he came with an M-16, a gun I recognized, and his name was Robert Graves, which was the name of one of my dad's friends.

Didn't get any more Joes for a month or two when I spent some of my birthday money on Breaker and the FLAK.

1982 Grunt from Playworld. Thumb kept breaking.
Then I think it was Breaker, Stalker, and Snake Eyes. Eventually I got them all by my birthday and Christmas. 82-85 were great years.
Before Joes, I had 1 microman and star wars figures. But Gi Joe had better articulation, so I stopped collecting star wars. I always hoped star wars would improve, but they didn't.

The first "GI Joe" I got was a Super Joe Terron. He was the scourge of Tattoine when I was a kid. Later on, I bought a BAT, because I was collecting robots. Around the same time, I traded for a used Quick Kick, Snake Eyes v2, neither had accessories, and a mail in Sky Hawk.
