I can't wait to see the Solan Autumn Elf sculpts, as well as that Barbarian that they teased with.

So wish these had been available 30 years ago. Would have ran with the entire lot.

ive been following it as well and there are a few things that frustrate me about it. the fact that it was a kickstarter and there are people that threw in $500 and more which for me is ALOT, and those people wont get any kind of special preference in being able to purchase these con exclusives other than go to the con like anyone else, or like me buy them on ebay for 3 times as much.
I was also very pissed at the concept of these being available before the funder items shipped but they cleared it up and said these will be afterwards.

Cap I feel that way constantly about all the cool new figures I get. I feel like I wish I could have gotten these 25 years ago when I started collecting so I could have enjoyed them through my youthful years. I always feel like im going to be in my 60s or 80s some day and keel over dead one day while I still have figures coming in the mail and never get to enjoy them all.

and then I smile wistfully, secure in the knowledge that there will never be a day when I have to see the end of a great happiness in my life.

Being set up at different shows helps them sell the product to people who don't hang around online or join in online toy forums and groups. Being exclusives to the shows helps draw people to those shows. It is one of those scratch my back and I'll scratch yours kind of things. for boss fight it will help draw in more fans to support their future efforts. However, they really haven't offered any more details about how exactly they will be going about this yet. It could be they end up available some way online after the convention season. I don't know that, but it seems like waiting to see how they intend to make these available is a good idea. But yeah, if these end up super limited to just SDCC and next year's JoeCon, I'm going to be really upset too. Since boss Fight are toy collectors too, I'm pretty sure it won't be that way.

I'm fully behind BFS, this kickstarter, and their future efforts (he said as a disclaimer), but I have to say that even before receiving these figures, my desire for Greek themed action figures is already so very well sated, that I can't see why I would want to pay exclusive level pricing for even more redecos of figures I will have plenty of.

Also, I will be getting exactly what I paid for when they finally deliver, and that makes me happy. There is no social contract that requires them to give backers any further inside edge than that which was promised at the time of the pledge. In fact, that initial pledge (for the all in I mean) gained so much value during the kickstart drive, I can't imagine what more I might ask of them.

If unique sculpts from the same line had been held back for con exclusives, rather than being a part of the deal, I could see viewing things differently. But redecos produced in a way which helps further the foundation of the company, and helps make future themes more likely to come to fruition? yeah, that works for me.

For me, even if I have to hunt or trade for what I need, I am still happy about their creation. I was serious about what I said in the other thread. I have waited forty years just for a Legolas figure, which prior to even the ToyBiz and Play Along fare, he only existed as a metal miniature by Games Workshop. I have a bin at my feet with over 300 primed and ready metal fantasy figures and personalities from a multitude of creators such as Ral Partha, Reaper, Games Workshop, Arduin Eternal, Empire Games, and many more. This was amassed over less than a decade and a half. I truly thought, that this would be the only medium I would ever be able to enjoy them.

But the industry changed, and it got really damn creative, and now with the funding of the private and not so private creator group, as I coin ad nauseum, it is an exciting time to really be a toy appreciator.

I was able to get in only on the $30 Medusa pledge, and that was through Amazon to Kickstarter at an 'eleventh hour' minute. What that entails for those of us who were of very limited means, I do not know. Will we get our Medusa? Will we not get it? I don't know, given the verbiage of the evolution of the entire kickstarter, but even if I don't get it, I am still very enthusiastic about what they offer, what they represent, and the whole BFS vision. I hope that incoming revenue will allow/enable them to at least get a warehouse to direct sell, because I have little to no faith in getting it from secondary and other tertiary markets. Some, like BBTS at least make the concerted effort. Other places, such as the chains, I just don't know.

im a little curious myself, are ALL these figures from the kickstarter going to be for sale in stores or online somewhere, or are only those first 4 figures going to be for sale. I was rereading the kickstarter page and it sort of sounded to me like those first 4 figures are THE wave. I have several more figures I would like to get past those early figs. im also wondering what the normal retail cost will be, because if they are like $20 each im worried what effect that will have on the success.

it's my understanding that the Kickstarter folks were going to get everything at once/up front, but the retail/online sales would be in waves throughout the year - BUT, on the rare occasion, I have been wrong ...

My understanding is that each Theme is planned to have four Waves, so them first four figures may indeed be the whole first Wave - along with the first blanks.

I also recall that they're shooting for $15 blanks and $20/$25 'Names' with the snakebodies being at the higher end.

I think.

when are these figures suppose to be getting shipped out again? I mean I know they have been held back now because of the marauders thing, but it doesn't seem that far and I still don't recall seeing or hearing anything about how the skeleton sculpting is going.

They posted the turn around for the first time on the 12th...so I don't think any time soon for the hard copy.

The timing should work something like this from what I understand of the process. By the time MJ gives his shipping announcement for his figures, the BFS stuff will already be under way at the factory. Everything is contingent on the factory's current production so an updated timetable for the BFS stuff hasn't been announced yet. I'd have to assume we're looking at late May early June at the earliest. Possibly. Really, that isn't inside info at all. I'm totally guessing at this point.

They never gave a month they felt was 'firm', but most of us are shooting for July; mostly because it's a nice even year since the KS ended. I've always had that in mind as the likely ship-out date, truth be told.

no seriously though, I really really like that undead warrior. come on skellies!
the fact that nobody seems to be putting out figures I want is making me terribly impatient. no joes, no star wars anymore that I want or at least that I see, no marvel that I see. the only thing I see are those reaction figures which are rubbing me the wrong way the more I see them.

I gave up going to the toy aisle like 9 months ago. It's a wasteland of complete garbage, imho. Anything good worth getting nowadays, you gotta order online. The *sole* worthwhile 18th toyline at the moment is Acid Rain, and maybe them Hiya Aliens.
