well I agree with your prior stance as to the silliness of some characters, but you're all-in at this point. lol. And if you're going to do it, may as well knock it out of the park like this.

Ultron looks great. The only critique I have is that the arms look short, which is a common figure problem these days.

Very nice!

'Modular Armor' (Bleeding Edge) Iron Man lower legs (or from the 'Tron' looking repaint who's head he is holding) on a Doctor Who Cyberman?

Correct. Above the knees to below the noggin is all Cyberman. Lower legs and knees are Iron Man. Head's a modified comic Ultron.

Eventually I'll get around to articulating the wrists, which will add some overall length.

Glad you dig him.

Wrapping up a few days off, during which I was able to bang out a character I honestly never thought I'd do:

Ronan started life as a Death's Head figure and is mostly inspired by his classic comic look (though I made some convenient nods to the movie aesthetic because it was easier that way).

I'm not quite done/happy with the hammer, yet, so any thoughts on that (or anything else) would be appreciated.

oh man, that's cool. I admit that the Guardians movie was the biggest introduction to all the characters for me (aside from stuff here at JC). But seeing this kind of sparks my interest in seeing more of the comic versions.

Thanks, guys.

Really glad you dig him.

I might do some paint apps on the hammer to make it feel a little less cobbled together.

So here's one I've been working on for quite some time.

For my Kingpin of Crime, I wanted a truly monstrous yet proportionate build for what is essentially just a really big guy in a custom-tailored suit.

To achieve that, I had to make some compromises in the articulation department:

On the down side, he can't raise his arms to the sides. But I figure a guy that big in a suit that tailored wouldn't want to, anyway. He's more of an intimidating presence just standing there:

But he still has enough range of motion to throw his weight around:

What do you guys think?

it's a much more "realistic version" if that makes sense. Doesn't carry the iconic color scheme, but I like that it doesn't. The suit coat looks better than some of the alternatives I've seen and tried. But the head and the size are more than enough to sell who it is.

Thanks.

I deliberately went with a different color scheme just because I've always felt the white coat and purple pants were pretty silly.

The coat he's sporting now took a bunch of work.

Glad you dig him.
