I started this custom way back when the guys were doing their Resurgent contest, during Custom Celebration. Then, when I didn't finish it for that, I thought I'd enter it into the 'Tiger Force Something' contest, hopefully to win the Erik Araña Brawler card, and when that didn't happen, thought maybe I could make it for this NJC, and get Bucky into the Cantina. As some of you may or may not know, Bucky likes motorcycles, so I took a 4LOM Bust Up and made him a space traveler. But because it looked so insect-ish, and I ran across the name 'Mansquito' online, it all came together as this:

Side note: tried something new on that jacket: since leather gets lighter in the creases instead of darker, I took a page out of Erik's book, and painted the jacket in a light suede color, and then dry-brushed the black on top of that, and then finished with a light citadel brown wash. The eyes on the helmet are silver, with yellow and green tamiya clear paints, followed by a dark wash.

Thoughts?

Cool character idea. Great paint. And the damn shoes look real.

I can dig it, and agreed on the paintwork; but the Zuckuss head rides too high and the hoses go nowhere. Is it a true helmet or a pop-n-swap?

pop 'n swap. i didn't want to cut out any of the zuckuss neck detail, and didn't want to trim off that awesome torso collar detail - i know it rides high, but it still looks neat.

as far as the hoses: I had a backpack 'blood tank' idea, but can't find the dang thing. the hoses are now meant to be the mansquito blood sucker tubes.

it just didn't work out as planned.

but thanks for the input, peeps!

I'm bucky, and I approve of this custom.

When I started reading your post, and when I got to Resurgent, my first thought on the look was that it could be part of the Insurgent universe. Reading the rest, the whole thing screams of awesomeness.
