This week is the Plastirama Airborne from Argentina named Condor:

http://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com/ ... borne.html

I love the Airborne mold. But, the low quality of this figure was kind of a bummer.

This week's profile is the 1988 Toxo Viper

http://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com/ ... viper.html

He's a chilling concept, if a bizarre in execution.

This week's profile is the 1986 Mission to Brazil Leatherneck figure:

http://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com/ ... rneck.html

He's probably the best overall repaint in the set and is a useful update of the Leatherneck character. (Though, that's not how I used him when I was a kid.)

This week I look at the 2004 Operation Crimson Sabotage set. A $20 marvel at the time holds up incredibly well and begs the question of why Hasbro didn't try more sets like this:

You have to love the KB Toys rep who requested the Crimson Sabotage set.

And the CAT 2. And that Crimson chopper. They were really on a roll for a bit.

Cool write-up. This is the set that pulled me into collecting as an adult. Before that, I did not even know that they were still making Joes. I love reading about the backstory like this.

This week is the 1989 Deep Six figure:

http://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com/ ... p-six.html

He's one of those great, support figures whose specialty lends him to being forgotten.

This week, I look at the 1987 Zanzibar figure:

http://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com/ ... zibar.html

He's really the only Dreadnok after the original 3 who found a place in my childhood collection.

The day I got Zanzibar was a very good day. He destroyed the Joes for like a week. Nobody could out smart or out fight that pirate.

This week, I look at the 2005 Comic Pack Flint figure:

http://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com/ ... flint.html

He was so full of potential, but really fell flat.

While I liked the new head, it's not Flint.

I can't remember how many of the sets I got, but I've used that head for a few of my own characters. My issue was a lot of these figures had the sun tan skin tone which kinda made LBCs difficult.

Not the best mold, but it was 1983.

This week I look at the collector favorite 1990 Vapor figure:

http://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com/ ... vapor.html

He's a fairly strong design, if not a little odd. Would have liked to have seen his head as a new Overkill or BAT in the 2000's, though.

This week, I take a look at the underrated 1988 Sgt. Slaughter mold. This version of Sarge is dripping with potential that Hasbro didn't quite tap. (Which is common among 1988 figures.) But, it still the best version of Sgt. Slaughter and takes him away from his drill instructor roots and cements him firmly as a full fledged combat Joe.
