Got the sorting order right and set up the basic layout, chose a suitable font.

Bit by bit.

I'm intrigued. I think I have an idea of where you are going with this, but I'm looking forward to seeing the result.

Kinda winging it as I go. Ran into my first snag, so switched up what part of the project I'm working on.

Was reluctant to use the modern era symbol, but I think it works.

Started with one of the vector files I made of the new style logo, and started to tweak the dimensions a bit.

I think with the next step it will be much more clear what I'm working on. Hopefully this will turn into something.

Well, I've hit a technical snag on the dio-related piece. I have been inspired to spend some time in the work shop this week, but most of my time has been spent organizing and working on NJC entries. I've actually gotten 2 out of the 3 I had wanted to make done!

I did find some time to throw together a little Tomahawk crew for the LBC challenge though!

Sounds good to me! I actually don't know what type of roles a helicopter crew needs beyond pilots and door gunners. I figure the red-helmet is Liftticket's co-pilot. Maybe the other guys in the vests are the door gunners, and the harness guys are the loadmaster... and something else?

Alright. I've been lurking a lot this CC but I've actually knocked out about 10 figures in the past two weeks because I've been really inspired by everything I've been seeing. Maybe HALF of those I can't show off yet because they're for NJCs, GPs, and the Retro-Toy contest, but I'll have lots to show soon.

I've wanted to participate in the 2 week challenges, but I just couldn't come up with anything that fit, and I just keep running into to technical limitations with the dio idea I had. I'll come back to that, but I didn't want to spend all week trying to trouble shoot software issues when I could be in the studio whenever our child was taking a nap.

Today, inspiration struck and I'm going to try to squeeze in an Action Force figure by tomorrow's deadline.

Here's the parts I'm using, still deciding on the head and which hands to go with.

Currently waiting for the first round of spray paint to dry. A method I had abandoned but have fallen completely in love with upon seeing some excellent use of it over the past two weeks!

Parts spray painted and assembled. Saw a couple spots that were rubbing on the upper legs and sanded the area. Once he's all assembled, I'll mask and do a final spray.

I've used LEGO parts off and on for adding simple articulation, but someone here suggested the control levers for wrist articulation (I'm forgetting who, sorry!) and I've found it very handy.

I drill a small hole for the ball end to fit snug in, and the cut the "stem" to length. I drill a small hole into the hand I want to attach, put a little glue on the the exposed stem, and put the hand in place. You can do it backwards, with the ball in the wrist, to get some additional directional movement, but I find this way is a little more sturdy and reliable.

Sorry for the low quality images, just snapping some shots with my phone as I go. Here he is with the hands attached. I think I've settled on this head once I realized Ironblood doesn't really have a full beard. I can add the simple goatee easily, and this head should be small enough to fit in the helmet I have selected.

All in all, I'm rushing and not super crazy about the character design to begin with, but I've gotten a lot of great inspiration out of the past two weeks and I want to participate in one of the challenges. We'll see how he looks tomorrow afternoon.
