Here you. This is a good representation of what I have in my paint cabinet:
The yellow used on the pilots was hand painted Tamiya. It applies smooth. To make it pop, I hit the finished custom with clear coat.
For vehicles, I love using Liquitex. It comes in a wide range of colors and is available at Michaels. It is a bit more pricey, but it covers well and has a flat finish.
