Day 8

I got some painting done last night, so I started assembling the figures this morning. I always assemble them with web gear before final touch ups. That way, if I scratch them or damage the paint while Im putting them together, he damage can be fixed along with touch ups.

Image

After assembling them, I decided to add some large pouches on the belts to replicate the ones on the originals. For this, Marauder parts come in handy.

Image

I had to do a bit of trimming on the belts with my knife to create a flat surface to glue the pouches. I used super glue.

After a bit of paint and some re-assembly, all that remains are final touch-ups. For the Para, I decided to paint the belt black. The originals was khaki like his uniform, but I wanted the color break. Also, what is the point of having a more detailed sculpt, if not to highlight some of the details :D

Image

Also, I had some time to get started on my second batch. I did some white on the Medic’s shirt and on the Minesweeper’s sleeves. The former will stay white and will need a second coat while the latter will now get two coats of red.

Lastly, I started on the Minesweeper’s web gear:

this is way out there, but I do a double take every time I see your pics in front of those bins, because my eyes tell me those are scale size computer control room screens. every time. lol. You should totally print computer screens for the front of those drawers and make it a WIP/CIC

Amazing work.

Why can't Hasbro do this?

Lol. That's a great idea. I'll ask my wife if I can use her Silhouette scrap booking machine. It would work perfectly for such a project

Theoretically, they could. Aside from the Marauder pouches (which are not a necessary part of the recipes), everything else is stock parts with no mods.

What about Recoil's mine case for the detonator for the Para?

I'm honestly awed by the speed you are banging these out.

Recoil's pack could work. Tomorrow, I'll look through my backpacks and stuff to see if I have one or something similar.

The first three figures are done (except clear coat).

Really, really impressive take on these. I'd buy them in an instant, and wouldn't even part 'em out for fodder!

Awesome.

Would love to see them in a jeep or next to the APC

Thanks guys :)

I continued painting the Minesweeper and Medic.

Just because I'm a bit nuts (Bucky and Dusty79 can vouch for me), I built two more figures - Space Force Pilot and, based on some ideas that HypnoHustler used to make his version of Beaver, uh... Beaver.

I don't know if these will be finished before the end of CCX, but I'll get them started.

Progress on these has slowed. I've been working on stuff for Resur... err another project. Still, final assembly has started:

Started working on accessories:

Also modded the hose on the mine detector. I hate the hard plastic they use, so I prefer to replace it with some flexible hose. Thanks to Pluv for suggesting s'ghetti. I got it on Amazon and the pack come in several colors.

I would buy multiples of every single one of these if they were retail.
