I need your opinion guys. There was a post made to a Joe group on Facebook stating that a caster was going to make a run of the Gary Head tribute cast (originally done by Nick Whitmore) and bring it to Joecon:





He then stated that:



Sounds good, but the thing is the person who made this post is the head of Broken Arrow Toys, if you get my drift. I don't want to bring up old drama, but can this be trusted? Do you think it's legit?

Given who the head is, and what he meant to the community, not following through on this would completely alienate him.

I'm gonna give him the benefit of doubt on this. Don't know what Gary meant to him, but I think this is legit.

I agree. Alyosha has had some troubles, but I see nothing wrong with this.

John's not going to screw around with this. He did some custom figures of Gary that he auctioned off last year with proceeds going to the family. He may have had his issues in the past but he's not the type to dick around with something like this.

I don't understand what the controversy is? It's a well-known person in our community that is doing this, and he's a well-known caster.

alyosha helped me get some things before that I could not find anywhere after tons of looking. but he also took about 2 years another time to send me a couple basic head casts I bought, that is no exaggeration . so very mixed feelings.

Hmm, interesting reading. I haven't had any problems, but I only ordered twice (I think) an unknown number of years ago, and I received my items. Since then I've only bought from him at JoeCons, him and Raginspoon, who I've also had no problems with. Not sure why, I don't think I've actually gotten to the part of where I actually put the custom together, but I have the parts! lol

I always avoided him due to online warnings, but man would I love to do a Gary goggles custom tribute. I would risk it if I had the chance to buy that sculpt.

My problems with this guy go all the waaaaaaayyyyy back to the days of Internet Newsgroups, remember stuff like "alt.toys.gi-joe", etc? Alyosha wasn't casting stuff then, but he was selling, and he also liked to pick arguments just for the heck of it.

My recommendation based on his attitude then and his business behavior since, but understanding why people would be interested in this particular casting is: Get it AT the Convention, and make sure the item is placed in your hand before you hand him any money.

I was one of the lucky ones. I got my single casted part from him in a matter of just a few months. This was after months of e-mailing with no response at all. Given the history, I'm not inclined to believe he will all of a sudden become reliable because it's about Garry. He should not screw around because it's just the right thing to do.
