Really glad you guys dig on the big fella. He's one of my proudest custom achievements.

Since I'm going more obscure with character selection these days, thought I'd take this opportunity to show another deep cut:

I've always enjoyed Wild Child, but felt he got little respect in the costume department. This custom is a nod to his oldest school Flight days, though I tweaked the aesthetics a bit.

Here he is with his Canuckian pals from Alpha Flight:

What do you guys think?

that's some out of the box thinking with Wild Child's head! Well done, great character & great version of him!

I'm really glad you said that. Wasn't sure it would work. I had to do some sculpting to the SDCC "Invaders" boxed set Namor head and, of course, graft on that mane from Valkyrie.

If you look closely, you can see the lower tooth sticking up in the left corner of his mouth.

Sheer genius.

The head totally works- though he does look like a reject from an 80s hair metal band

Great team shot too.

My only critique is that Sasquach looks a little underpainted next to the rest.

That's awesome. I was gonna ask if that was the Namor head - you did a great job bashing it with the Valkyrie hair.

Never knew much about Wild Child - he came along after I stopped reading X-Comics for the most part - all I knew of him was from the no-ticulated pack-in fig that came with the Toy Biz AoA Sabretooth back in the 90s.

But now I'm gonna have to go read up on him.

Also - you & I have the same Alpha Flight lineup (sans WildChild). I've got a Snowbird sketched out, but haven't cobbled her together yet - can we expect one from you in the near future?

Snowbird's in the queue, as are Shaman and Vindicator. I also have plans to upscale Guardian a bit.

Too many ideas. Never enough time.

So I've been thinking a lot about Civil War lately (the movie), and how the movie Cap has really endeared himself to me over the course of five films.

I particularly dug his costume in the most recent installment, and was excited by the 1:18 scale version packed with the motorcycle. But, in hand, it just felt doofy. The head and hands were huge and didn't do the screen look justice. So I set about fixing it:

This is just a head swap and modded arms to accept the MU Steve Rogers mitts. I feel just these little tweaks save the figure.

While I was back in Cap mode, I decided to make another kit for my modular Cap custom, which you can see more of here. This set of boots, gloves and head is intended to make him look more like his Ultimate incarnation:

And last but not least, a character that's also really grown on me through the movie-verse but hasn't had a decent figure in our scale:

UltiBuck.jpg

This isn't so much a straight-up movie homage as a mash-up of comic and movie attributes with some touches inspired by the character's backstory (the pants feel more like standard Cold War-era Russian gear). I also thought it was important for him to have working holsters and sheaths for his personal arsenal.

What do you guys think?

I've got the same Cap set aside until I can get some fixes done on him too.
You definitely show that it does improve him.

That Bucky is great. Very nice take on him and great parts combo.

I really like that movie Cap. Looks much better.
Bucky definitely looks much more intimidating.
