This custom has been on my to-do list for a while, and I finally got a little time to get to him this weekend:

This is just a re-purposed Namor with a Sentry head (left over from another project) and some ewok accessory bits retooled for a loincloth, belt and knife sheath.

Here are some shots of him with his truest love and his stalwart companion. You decide which is which:

I'm planning to put some paint on Zabu to make him look less 90s ToyBizzy, but apart from that what do you guys think?

Very nice! I love the color wash you used to bring out the muscle detail. Excellent!

Can't take credit for the wash on Ka-Zar. That's Hasbro factory. Apart from modding the head to fit the new buck and the very putzy work put in on that loincloth, this wasn't much more than an LBC.

I mentioned in the Ka-Zar post that I was using some of the rest of the Sentry body for another project. I was able to finish that over the long weekend, too:

This version of Luke Cage is inspired by both his comic and Netflix looks. I wanted him to have a kind face on a bruiser's body and I needed some nods to his in-book modern appearance (the Cage figure Hasbro gave us could've been any scary looking big guy).

Here he is confronting former fashion choices:

Nice! I'm looking for a Mike Colter-esque head for my own Cage custom. Debating whether to try painting up a RockBlock head.

The yellow shirt on your "street" Cage -- never even occurred to me to use a Sentry torso. I painted mine yellow (multiple coats over primer) and it still looks clunky. Im'ma stealing your recipe.

On Ka-zar - the only thing I can see that doesn't work for me is his emo lips. Maybe a quick wipe with some alcohol?

Love these builds.

That Cage is perfect!

Thanks for the kind words on Cage, gents.

I'm pleasantly surprised by how he turned out.

Here's another long-simmering fix for a Hasbro offering I found inadequate:

This is a complete, ground-up rebuild. Only parts I used from the original Moon Knight are the belt, the cape and the staff. The rest is a Future Foundation Spidey with a modified Hand Ninja head. The paint on the hood, cape, boots and gloves is shiny pearl white like the belt and moon crest - not showing up so great in the light I used.

Here's an action shot:

I have to admit, I didn't know who Cage was, but you made me google him. That is a great figure.

Dang. I'm a huge MK fan and am never really fond of plastic capes, but the combo you have here with the Ninja head works perfectly.

Time to give my MK custom another upgrade, I suppose :-)
