I ordered an assload of Cobra Legion packs for the purpose of army building. I'm sure a bunch of guys on here have done the same. I refuse to just let the CC's and SS's go to waste. I plan on doing just a straight repaint of the SS's into blue as a Cobra Ninja Trooper.

I have several ideas for the CC but because I only have a few of the 25th figures in hand I thought I'd get your input. To me the figure just screams Iron Grenadier with a few dashes of red and gold. The only issue I have is the head. I could take the easy way out and just paint the head red and slap the helmet on but I think it would still say CC too much.

A better option in my opinion would be to use a casting of the '88 IG head or a similar looking head from the ARAH line. How difficult would it be to get the ball joint head to work on the 25th body?

Do you have any better(still cost effective) ideas?

So far, that's been my favorite use for the Legions Cobra Commander.

I'm just holding onto my extra CCs for random fodder, whenever the inspiration strikes. I imagine his legs would be pretty good for a 25th Tunnel Rat if combined with a Duke or Flint upper body (just switch out the feet), since Shipwreck's pants (and proportions in general) look odd.

If you want to go with an IG then use the Plague Trooper heads. They have a real old-school IG feel to them with a modern update. In fact, never mind. Forget I said anything. I'm doing this myself... bwahahahahaha!!!

Great idea! That's why I brought it up here. I was going to consider using a repainted Air Trooper's gas mask but I like the Plague Trooper head even better.

Somebody start pumping out some Plague Trooper heads.

I've got one started (waiting on some Fixit to cure) and it looks really good on the Cobra Commander body. Looking forward to what you come up with as well.

Well you could headswap with the hooded CC to make to more CC variants. The black helmet looks good on the dark blue hooded body because it matches well with the gloves. Paint the hood black for the other one and you have an easy all black hooded CC.

I've been out of the customs(heck, Joes period) game for a while now so I have to get some new supplies and wait for my Legions packs to come in.

You planning on making the head available for purchase? I don't have any Plague Troopers handy.

I'm not sure if this is your intent, but I'm thinking it'd be damn near impossible to get the in-torso RAH ball neck to work in a 25A body. There's just no where to build up the neck ball socket in the 25A chest, I'm afraid. Your better plan of attack is to cut the neck ball off and drill into the head so it fits on the 25A neck stem.

I'm using a casting of the Plague Trooper head I got from Alyosha. I had to dremel off the neckball but it works great so far.

mine is set aside for use as a Red Laser/Red Shadow... quick re-paint, and the storm shadow just might replace the harder to find Red Ninja.

anyone know if Maruder Johns berets fit on the legions Cobra Commanders head?

In the ebay listing he shows the beret on the 25th Cobra Trooper bald noggin so I'd say yeah it should fit the CC head as well.

I'm using one with a comic pack Baron Fel head to make a Dr. Venom. Its a dress oufit LBC for now, but after the holidays when I get my basement put back together I'm gonna swap out the arms and re sculpt the torso slightly for the haggard lab worker look.

Between a Legions pack and a single pack trooper (Viper pilot) I did a bunch of reconfiguring.

I LBC parts swapped to actually create another Trooper like from the first 5 pack. I put the CC head on the Air Trooper body - under the helmet where you can't see it. I find it's ok with the other helmet too. Neat effect. Just need to drill a backpack hole.

Then I took a red mask trooper head and put it on the CC body with CC's helmet. It really works! He looks like a senior officer type or ceremonial guard. The way I look at it, I just got one more army builder out of that pack!
