Got these two dropped off today:


Wanted Ygritte for her bow and quiver. The bow is quite short, so it's a shortbow. The quiver is pegged at her chest, so you have to cut it off to remove it. All the clothing is sculpt, and the torsos are hard plastic. The only way parts can be used I see are either boil and popping extremities, or boring out the same after cutting them off.

The Night King is a good sculpt, and his armor rules. If you just want him as a standing character or sitting one, know that his skirt prevents a full bend of the legs. Their paint jobs are terrible. These by no means are HACKS.

I'll probably get Sam for his crossbow, and his girth sculpt because you never know when you want one. Personally I'm more interested in the Wall diorama piece for my Frostfell needs in Eberron. I thought about the White Walker or the Lord of Bones, but I wanted to see two of these in hand before making any decisions on the rest. Like most Funko, accessories often outweigh the figure, but in this case it's a 50/50.

Well, poop. I have an Ygritte and two Ghosts arriving tomorrow. Good to know that I shouldn't get my hopes up. Is her head at least a good enough sculpt to work with HACKS/Marvel, or is it too "retro"?

Also looking forward to the Wall when it's available.

Her head sculpt makes her look older than Melissandra. Both of them have a medium sized neck ball hole so they'll work with MU or HACKS, but Ygritte has a very large forehead. Also, her hair in the back is two separate pieces and the division line is very noticeable. I had high hopes for Ygritte, but Night King believe it or not is the finer of the two. You could put any head on his body and that armor will make it decent. I might try putting one of the Legendary Heroes Elven heads or Thranduill's head on it to see.

Dollar store haul!



I returned to the dollar store from a few weeks back and snagged the last of the dragon packs with the hatchlings.



I also grabbed 4 necklaces to harvest the crystals within their mesh for future projects. Sadly, the black crystals are horribly malformed with tons of air bubbles and poor moldings- they will end up being coal or some other rough stones after I hit them with Testors Dullcote to kill the shine.

Found some 12" scale Composition Notebooks and Legal pads at Party City. Not the scale generally represented here, but they were so neat I had to share. There were a few colors, blue, green, red, and purple, no black though, strangely.

At 25 cents each, I bought 3 dollars worth of these notebooks, and will likely go back for more. If you feel compelled to pick some up, at the Party City I went to, they were in some spinners where the gift bag stuff is (Temporary tattoos, penny whistles, etc.).

You got those gold beads at dollar tree? Those would be perfect for the MASS device! How small are they? If the red ones were a little smaller...

Not at a Dollar Tree but at a small dollar store that is not part of a chain.

The champaign colored crystals are TINY, VERY TINY. They are not beads as they do not have holes. They are tiny classic cut "diamonds".


Crystal size comparison to a 1/18 scale figure. The red, black and clear crystals all the same size so I only used a red one here. The champaign crystals are far smaller.

I got a Marvel Legends Nuke for $15.93 on Walmart with free site to store. Got a Black Series Imperial Navy Officer on clearance at GameStop. Then today, Walmart finally put up the Civil War Legends Black Panther at a time I saw it and I was able to snag him for retail, with free site to store.

I got an order in at TRU.com for a couple of the Black Panther/Agent 13 sets. Now I just have to wait for them to ship.
