In case you are wondering what's going on, we had to take a pause while revisions were completed on the Marshal and Trail Boss before moving forward.
A lot of those parts are used elsewhere in the lineup in different ways, and they all needed to be "punched up" in terms of detail (buttons, piping, etc) before moving forward. While the digital files looked fine and the 3d prints were also good, some of those details didn't pan out when cast, hence the fixes.
The Territories Lawman is about to head off to the printer (after the vest closure is done), as well as some small parts from Jose. After that, it's on to Paul's plain portrait and the Barkeeper.
After that should be the new parts for Sheriff, Badlands Vigilante and whatever else is left. Getting close now.
1) Marshal - DONE!
2) Sheriff - NEW PARTS! (Derby Hat, Portrait, Walking Stick, Short Coat)
3) Trail Boss - DONE!
4) Ranch Hand - NEW PARTS! (Portrait, Hat, Calvary Boots Lower Leg)
5) Territories Lawman - DONE!
6) Trail Drover/Sharpshooter - NEW PARTS! (Hat, Portrait, Bib Front Shirt, Cartridge Belt, Knife/Sheathe)
7) Barkeep - NEW PARTS! (Portrait, Apron)
8) Head Honcho - NEW PARTS!
9) Gunfighter - NEW PARTS!
10) Create Your Own Cowboy - NEW PARTS!
11) Create Your Own Outlaw - DONE!
12) Masked Lawman/Badlands Vigilante - NEW PARTS! (Portrait)
All that being said, if things take off like gangbusters come October, then we may yet add to this list in series 1. Also, the line name is going to be changing from Legends of the West to the above noted Dime Novel Legends! Thoughts?

*I* like it--but I don't know if its because I understand it. I don't know if a broader audience does.

yeah, Dime Novel Legends is not going to independently catch the eye of nearly as many people.

Did they discover that someone already owned the trademark on Legends of the West? Because I can't see any other logical reason for the change. I get what the new name is referencing, but it's not nearly as snappy.

Aly mentioned something about WalMart not giving up their copyright, but hell if I know what line they have it for. LotW would be useless once they went to Series II Napoleonic/American Revolution anyway - but that also applies to DNL. They need an overarching brand name that covers every era, then go with the subheader names for each Series, imho. Something like UniMax's defunct 'Ages of Action'.

Heroes of History, Legends of the Past, Legends of the 1800's, 1700's etc. I don't know just throwing out ideas. Legends of History or American Legends.

Maybe just "Legends" in general is bad. Especially to the extent that implies 6" scale at all.

I know as recently as just a few years ago I still seen cap pistols using the legends of the west name, on the back they said they were made by empire. I even emailed and asked them if they had any intention of every bringing the figure line back. well maybe not a few years ago, more like 6, but still not that long. I was actually surprised when this kickstarter started being advertised that they were allowed to use that name.

A little house keeping, changed the title of the thread to reflect the change of the product name.

Per JE Russell:
Let's talk about the elephant in the room, as it's coming up on decision time to decide whether it's going to be made in series 1 as we'd planned, or have to be pushed.

Given the GARGANTUAN costs of tooling (it's about the same budget as the ENTIRE figure lineup), the Stagecoach will have some caveats. It will firstly, be a stretch goal all on it's own and NOT included in the "All-IN!" packages.
Also, we are working on how to get it produced. The horses have to be static (with removable tack), if you want horses with it at all. We may be able to swing a ball jointed head. Tooling costs and all that.

Also, helping reach the stretch goal will only pay for the tooling, and production costs will have to come out on the other side of that. This means that unlocking it, gets you a steep discount on one, not free as a bonus.

MSRP is going to be around $129 or so, we think. Given all those details, is it something you can budget for? Conceivably, if you bought just a smaller package (not All-IN!) and this unlocks, you would be able to purchase. Same obviously goes with the "All-IN!" package holders.

I know this is all strange, and not how things usually work, but given the massive cash outlay it's going to cost, it's the only way we can think of to get it done. Also, it will come with a driver made out of pre-existing parts. No new tooling, but there will be a figure included.

What do you think? In or out?
