I always take the promotional material fro granted but that was a fun read and an interesting look at something I don't even remember receiving.

This mail away promo is already the most viewed page in the history of the site. A friend of mine gave it to me a few months ago. I thought it was pretty cool. But, I never expected it to generate as much interest as it has. Even Sgt. Slaughter himself liked it. That was really cool!

That was a great read. I had never heard of that particular insert before. In Canada, we did not get most of those offers. Congrats on the nod from the Sgt.

The 2004 Comic Pack Scarlett wasn't a figure I really liked back when it was released. But, now, it holds up better than a lot of her contemporaries.

Stalker was the one original Joe who was a mainstay in my collection through my final days in 1987. The figure quality, strength of character and overall importance to the comic story made him a requirement.

The Monster Blaster's one of my favorite vehicles overall, despite the late release date.

Awesome. I agree: one of the best, most underrated vehicles ever. The BAT APC rerelease was pretty great, too.

This week I look at one of my favorite repaints of the 2000's: the Urban Assault Nullifier. So many '90's molds had potential for spectacular repaints. But few were delivered. The Nullifier, though, was one and he's well worth another look:

This week, I look at the 2010 Convention Exclusive Flint figure:

I'm a sucker for the color, even if it's not something that traditionally appeals to collectors.

I always look forward to your weekly updates. As someone who started collecting around 2005ish, I really like all the "historical" context you provide regarding the state of the fandom during the '90s and early 2000s.

This week's profile is the 1989 Dogfight figure. He looks a lot like an abandoned Wild Bill concept and he's wildly anachronistic. But, it's a distinctive and fun figure that everyone should have:

It was 17 years ago today that I posted my first profile. If it was a kid, they'd be looking at colleges now.

This week, I look at the 1991 Sci Fi Figure:

When Hasbro got it right, they really got it right. The Hiss Tank is the iconic Cobra vehicle and it still stands tall over 30 years later:

I never found the 1993 Cobra Commander figure at retail. Now that I have him, though, I see why. He's one of the highlights of the final vintage years:
