This week's profile is the 1991 Red Star. I was fascinated by this figure when I first came across him. But, the 2000's kind of relegated him to lesser status with so many uses of his parts. Now, though, this figure really rises above the other uses of his mold and is a strong 1990's era release.

This week, I look at the 1986 Iceberg figure. Despite the high quality, this guy never took off in my childhood collection. But, he's a pretty solid figure:

This week I look at the not so great 1992 Stalker figure:

This week is the 2000 Lamprey figure. It was good to see him return in a color scheme close to the vintage version. But, he also showed many of the characteristics collectors would come to despise during the repaint era.

My first post holiday and 2017 profile is the Funskool Scrap Iron figure:

http://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com/ ... -iron.html

He was an anticipated re-release back in 2002. But, the quality of this particular Funskool release was poor and the figure suffers for it.

Hey Mike, thanks for doing this. Your passion for the vintage line is inspiring, and you're the best in the business at reviewing the old figures.

I don't think its a coincidence that I've been getting my collection organized and displayed and been on a customizing frenzy since rediscovering your site. I hope it stays up forever!

Thanks. Vintage figs don't get much press these days. But, they're the reason why I collect. Glad you're back in it. I've been thinking about starting to customize again. I have a ton of beat up old figures and parts. Just need to go get some paints and try my hand.

Something a little different today. I take a look at the Wal Mart exclusive 3 3/4" Black Series Imperial Death Trooper. I wasn't sold on the character design until I saw them in the movie. But, this is really an awesome figure:

This week, I look at the 2004 Whirlwind. It's a pretty impressive little toy considering the price point. And, the 2004 reissue was a very good deal with 2 vehicles and 3 figures for $20. Don't think we'll see sets like that again.

This week, I review the 1993 General Flagg. I found the '92 figure at retail, but not this one. But, I prefer this darker version overall.

Today's profile is the 1987 Psyche Out figure. I think he's the worst of the three major versions of the figure. But, the character isn't that popular in better paint schemes, either.

My very first GI Joe ever. Psych Out will always have a special place in my heart, and in my collection. I'm still proud of my childhood self for managing to keep his head antenna in one piece.

I've never used Sub Zero, but the fig is pretty decent. Lots of gear and and a good design...from the neck down.

Today I look at the 1998 Snow Serpent figure:

He's my favorite arctic Cobra by far.

If you're undecided on picking up the Red Laser custom Viper figures, here's my run down of the most recent coloring:
