Pretty obvious the budget went towards the monsters and not the figures but the sets look pretty good. If the prices are comparable to Chap Mei, not even matching, just close, then these will be bought.

All the monsters look great.....but they mostly just re-purposed old Corps stuff?
I see two new heads (Samuel L Jackson and Tom Hiddleston).
I was really hoping for a Huey and some new bodies.

Neca made a 12" Godzilla.
Jakks Pacific made a 24" GodIlla.

So why am I not surprised that Lanard is making an 18" Kong. :-/
Hopefully it will at least look half way decent next to the JP Godzilla, which is a liitle shorter than the advertised 24".

Of course I'll still be getting it, either way. :-D

At least its something new. Any word when these or the new sculpt figures are hitting stores? I also like the addition of African American characters in Lanard toys. They have been mia over the past few years.

Pluv perhaps this should be merged with the corps topic as we covered this before toyfair.

I say no - this isn't The Corps. It's a movie line. And I'd have never seen it if it were limited to the Corps thread.

Untrue, as we cover all of Lanard's offerings on that topic.

Yes, it's a movie tie in, and other than 3 headsculpts a boat and the pack in monsters, every figure is a corps repaint as are the vehicles. The new boat will carry over this june to the corps line. Both myself and Andrew Kramer have diligently reported Every aspect of what's being offered through Lanard. And I highly recommend that anyone reading takes a look at the lanard thread, as clearly you're missing out, I'm not trying to steal anyone's thunder, with respect....samsallspark... See date of pic.

I agree with Bindy.

This toyline is not 'The Corps'.
This toyline is 'Kong Skull Island'

Both toylines are made by the same company, and share some moulds, but no where does the packaging say 'The Corps'.

I also would not have seen anything about these figures if not for this thread. I honestly don't really care about The Corps and don't go in to that thread.

.... I'm pretty sure the world has room enough for two threads regarding tangentially related toy lines.

And I think King Kong takes exception at being referred to as a pack in monster. I have zero "LASER BLAST" to give about the corps. I have many for this giant ape.

Well I have no problem informing on both threads. If this licenced tie in proves mutually beneficial for the license holder Lanard may very well get the Godzilla 2 toys tie in and kong vs. Godzilla lines. For those here who are not Lanard fans let's talk product, google toys r us locations vs walmart locations. Now food for thought, Lanard is producing continuous yearly Corps! Product and in june will have modern articulation in it's line, plus now Kong: skull island
This is but one reason I am excited, what Lanard has done with existing molds is amazing, and yes, some groan about the shared molds, but Hasbro did this very thing with the Hulk movie figures, sharing joe dtc molds, it's a cost cutting measure, and I really like the detail that the kong set has.

I was at Walmart today and they are in the process of resetting their toy section.

They had the planogram papers taped above each section. The "Kong" line will share a 4' section with "The Corps!' with "Corps!" getting over half of the shelf/peg space. The "Kong" line was shown to have 3 pegs for the "Creature Encounter" sets (spider/jeep, pterodactyl/boat, dino/shed) with a double high stacking of the helicopter/large boats on the shelf directly underneath and the giant Kong to the left partially underneath the pegged "Corps!" products. The entire bottom shelf was earmarked for larger boxed "The Corps!" sets as was the rest of the top shelf and pegboard. Stores with larger toy departments might have more facings for these products but this particular Walmart only has a tiny toy section.

The planogram was dated for implementation on 1/16 so we very well might be seeing the new stuff VERY soon!
