Those prices are much lower than another person posted at another forum.

The prices originally listed were indeed higher, but with All things retail, the more they purchase the cheaper it is at walmart. If these would have been at toys r us I expect it would have been higher as there are less tru stores.

Stopped at a Walmart on the way home tonight. No Kongs, but they did have one each of the $10 beast packs. Had no interest in the boat and left the Samuel L. set because he had some bad paint ops on the face, but did buy the arachnid set.

For $10, you can't beat these guys. I'm guessing the figure's head is based on the actor, and its a fairly nice sculpt. The jeep is a decent little vehicle, I only wish the drum in the back wasn't cast in place. Still, it makes a good transport for one of my mercenary units. At first, I was worried about the leg joints on the spider holding the thing up since they are very loose. However, once you have it standing, its very solid. I'm sure I'll eventually get the Samuel set, although I can't figure out what that creature is supposed to be. Really wish they made the create with the boat have a pteranodon head rather than that Cthulhu-looking thing.

Again, considering a Black Series Star Wars figure on the same aisle runs $13, these things are a steal. I really can't wait to see Kong.

How is the underside of the spider? Not hollow I hope.

Again, apologies for no pics......

Went to the dinky Walmart out by my house today and, luckily, they had two Kongs....and a Samuel L set with decent paint apps. The best part is Kong had a shelf tag of $30 but only rang up at $25.

The Kong Set - pure awesome. I thought the lack of leg articulation would bug me, but I have that articulation on some of my other gorilla figures and it really does nothing. So, no big loss. The figure that is packed in - can't say anything about him. He's still entombed in the packaging that I threw aside when I got Kong out (BTW you have to unscrew him from his packaging). But Kong just looks awesome.

The Samuel L set - Interesting how they did the guille suit, but I'm not a big fan of those on my figures so its already put aside. Surprised the dino creature has an articulated jaw - nice. The Samuel L headsculpt, if he has decent paint, is really a nice job. I think over time he may need to get a Joe or Marauder body. The base is cool - again, wish some of the stuff wasn't cast in place, but its still really decent scenery fodder. Same as my previous post, you can't beat these sets for $10.

Struck out again today but I ordered some of the creatures from the 2005 movie to hold me over till I find these. They look like they will fit in with the Lanard figures pretty good. Kong is pretty undersized at 7" for most of the figures but the creatures looked nice.

I have had this set since I got it on clearance at Target after the movie came out. Be forewarned that some of the parts of these figures are squishy foam rubber-like materials. I also have another set that had some kind of silver/gray snake-like fish and he is entirely squishy :(

The lack of leg artic bothers me, but the scale and price still make him worthwhile.

also grabbed the spider set, which is pretty much all I wanted/cared for. The other sets are way too Corps-looking for me, especially the larger vehicles.
