Excerpt from "The Galactic Almanac Of Developed Species" (Fourth Edition):

The most elusive sentient species on Tolkien III is the Gorgon race. The Gorgons are an ancient reptilian race that at one point in the planet's distant history ruled the majority of its surface and the races that inhabit it. But that was long ago and the Gorgon empire has been reduced to a pale shadow of its former glory.

Gorgons are a race of reptilian humanoids that have upper bodies similar to humans and most other species in the Galaxy but from the "waist" down have powerful serpentine bodies. Their upper bodies are covered with very tiny scales save for their heads which are more heavily scaled. Their large eyes provide excellent vision both in bright sunlight and in the pitch black caves in which they currently reside. Gorgons are venomous, their enlarged fangs can penetrate the flesh of most species and their venom can kill a standard human quickly, an antidote exists, but as it is only in the possession of the Gorgons themselves, most bites prove to be fatal. Gorgons are extremely long lived, a Gorgon of fifteen thousand solar years of age is still considered to be in its prime.

Not a single Gorgon egg has hatched in over 1000 solar years, and infighting and wars have reduced their once great numbers significantly. Less than fifty individual Gorgons are believed to still exist on Tolkien III, almost all of which reside in the tropical equatorial region. On rare occasions, Gorgons can be found in other regions if they are at war. Although few Gorgons still exist, they command a powerful army of Trolls which they send against those who would invade their lands or insult their empress.

I meant to post this yesterday, I really like the double shoulder armor. Turns out I'm a fan of symmetry.
