When I started this project it was purely by accident.
All I wanted to do was see if I could fill a hole on my collection shelf and make a modern Sonic Viper.
That simple idea mutated into I
*MUST* make a version of every Viper in modern mold.
Such are the addictions of plastic crack and customizing.
My idea here was to make and or photograph a modern version of each figure styles in the classic Viper uniform.
Thus you will not see the...
-Battle Corps version
-The three ROC Viper Commandos
You will find included...
-The 98 Cobra Trooper and Officer both styled in the classic Viper uniforms
-The Tri-State Viper is a limited figure that came from the boards of the same name. I am lucky enough to own one of the oring versions, so I made an update here as well.
It was a labor of love...and at time hate.
Enjoy.....
Viper v1 (1986): OriginalStraight out v16 was meant to be a modern take on the v1...so I kept it in this presentation. No custom here.
Viper v2 (1989): PythonLike the previous v21 is mean to be a modern take on v2. Again no custom here.
Viper v3 (1990): SonicA complete custom paint job. The mask was spray painted upside down using a metallic red spray paint. The paint was acrylic I actually used the same sort of paint used for painting pictures on a canvas. I do that a lot here.
Viper v5 (1997): Flight PodAll custom here...the color is slightly off but its close enough that I was happy with it.
Viper v6 (2002): vs MirageCustom all the way.
Viper v7 (2002): CrimsonConvention exclusive this Viper v25 is their update of their own v7.
Viper v8 (2002): vs Mirage (recolors)Easily the hardest of the batch...this paint job was a [LASER BLAST] to reproduce. I knew it wasn't going to come out 100% accurate but I gave it a good swing. Overall its a fair homage to the v8. A better customizer probably would have been able to spot on reproduce this, but what came out is pretty cool, and a fair...if not 100% accurate homage to the v8.
Viper v9 (2003): Venom CycleThe v9 is really close to looking just like the v6...only slightly darker. It was a rough paint, and much like my v8...probably isn't 100% true to original colors BUT...it does stand out and look different from v6 but close enough to the v9.
Viper v10 (2003): Venom Cycle (repaint)v10 is a custom...he kinda looks like a dingy grey mine might be a bit brighter but I like the effect.
Viper v11 (2003): w/ Alley ViperThe v11 is a custom...I chose to use the slightly more royal blue body from the Dollar General Trooper.
Viper v15a (2006): TRU Vipers SetBARELY a custom...I painted his knees grey.
Viper v15b (2006): TRU Vipers SetSlightly more work here...painted his knees grey and the face plate gold.
Viper v17 (2008): ArcticNo custom here.
Viper Custom (2008): DesertA parts swap from members of the Desert 7 pack set.
Viper v19 (2008) FANGHe came with the FANG...duhhh.
Viper v20 or v22 (2009): Cobra Pack or Hall of Herosv20 and v22 are essentially the same figure.
Viper v27 (2011): Blue GauntletsPretty much the new modern standard of Viper bodies...no custom or customizing here.
Viper v28 (2011): Red GauntletsFor those upset that the previous Viper had blue gauntlets...
Viper v29 (2016) Red Gauntlets v2I really have no idea why I photographed this considering its the same as v28.
Cobra Officer v2 (1998): Viper StyleTECHNICALLY not a Viper but it shared the same uniform.
Cobra Trooper v2 (1998): Viper StyleTECHNICALLY not a Viper but it shared the same uniform.
Viper Custom (Tri-State Viper)As said above this guy was made as an oring for the site Tri-State Vipers...I loved it so I made a custom.
Viper Officer v1 (2014)All Hasbro here...while its a Viper, its still the same style uniform.
So there you have it...one version of every figure in the original Viper style uniform that I could find or make...hope you liked it.

My Two Rule for Customs
Custom Rule #1: Honor the spirit of the character
Custom Rule #2: I'm not that great a customizer so keep it as simple as possible
