Wow... Now that's a great set.
If only Hasbro put that much effort into their store lines, we'd be in business.

I really hope they last for more than three minutes on Hasbrotoyshop.com, as this is a set I am really excited about, looking forward to this way more than the Cobra 3 pack.

Thanks for making Renegades Roadblock an exclusive after all these years of being MIA.

Trying so hard not to get irritated at how these toy companies seems to put more effort into $#@$@# SDCC exclusives then the toys they actually put out to retail stores.

:deadhorse: Whatever.

Yes, what an awesome set. Not going to kill myself to get that one, but if HTS actually gets some in stock that don't sell out in six minutes, I'd get that one.

Since I don't follow comic books that closely, is that what Matt Tracker now looks like?

Yeah. Brandon Easton the writer of the MASK comic asked if he could change Matt Tracker to a black guy and they let him.

Here's my overall take on the set

Box art - LOVE it. Wow, what a scene! But here's why I don't really feel inclined to try to get the entire set, even if I could afford it, which I can't, as cool as it is -- and at $99, at least $50 less than I thought it'd be.

Transformers Jetfire - Got him already. I was fortunate enough to be able to get him when he came out in the Generations line. But I know a lot of people weren't that lucky, so he's a good addition to the set.

Action Man - Got the original-style G.I. Joe version of him when he was released with the Toys "R" Us Night Force set a decade or so ago. I'm content with that. Nicely designed figure here, though.

MASK Matt Trakker - Got the first G.I. Joe version of him when he was part of the 25th Anniversary collection. Heck, I've even got a Kenner original version. And they're the classic Matt Trakker. I don't need this guy, but it's certainly logical that he's in this set.

G.I. Joe Roadblock - Nicely done modern-style Roadblock. but nobody I really need. I will always be first and foremost a RAH collector. But for those who really wanted this Roadblock, great!

ROM Dire Wraith - A warmed over Zombie-Viper. Pass.

ROM - Nicely designed version of him, in the G.I. Joe scale. I was never that into ROM, but I wouldn't turn him away if I could get him.

Micronauts - Yeah, bunch of little statues. Appropriate for the characters I suppose, but I understand the Micronauts/Microman fan community isn't too happy. They'd've rather seen a standard-size figure of one of the characters from the comics. I think they have a point.

Visionaries Leoric - Oh, heck yes! I still have all my original Visionaries, but the first new Visionaries figure in thirty years!? MOST DEFINITELY!

So, while I have no great need for the entire set, there's one or two that, if they become available separately for reasonable prices on the secondary market, I will certainly be interested!

HOLY POOPSTICKS OF FIRE! That is everything I've ever wanted and more. They even made mini micronauts so they'd be life size the 1:18 figures. How adorbs! I WANT IT!
I WANT IT!

I just found out about this today . What a pleasant surprise .
I'm really enjoying IDW's comics (MASK, Micronaut, GI Joe and various Transformers titles) especially Easton's modern take on MASK. It's like the Fast and The Furious meets MASK (for better or for worse). I happen to like it and GI Joe characters being mixed in is the cherry on top.

I'd have preferred better sculpted Micronaut minis but I want these. The Micronauts comic is unexpectedly decent so in wouldn't mind the little guys on my shelf. IDW has made me want the ROM figure.

Comics are the new 80's cartoons I. E. Toy Commercials.

See, this is what pisses me off about Hasbro: it's not that they can't make awesome toys, it's that they choose not to. Or they choose to release them only as nigh-impossible to get exclusives.

It's a cool set. If I can get one at a reasonable price, I may splurge. I still like the Missile base HQ more though.

I'm hoping that it means that when the shared universe toys are eventually released in a few years that they will be Joe scale and construction. I guess we'll see.

But, according to Hasbro's research, this is what collectors want. Don't you see how it makes sense?
