Does anyone else get purchaser's paralysis when these projects actually go live? I want all of them... actually I'd love a set to have and and set for projects... but there's no way I'm going to drop 1k. But I can never decide on a more reasonable amount, so I just don't buy anything. :/
Does this happen to you at TRU, BBTS, or JoeCon? Imho, a 'reasonable' amount should maybe be half a paycheck; depending on an individual's circumstances. Remember that - although it's never happened on the action figure side of KS - whatever money you pony up could just disappear and you end up with nothing. Whatever amount you pledge should never be more than you can lose.
Aside from that, you shouldn't succumb to 'everything-itis' just because they're showing off a lot of stuff. Completism is dumb, imho. Having Item A shouldn't have any bearing on whether you want to get Item B. Item B should justify itself in its own merits, not to 'complete' Item A.
So, don't pledge more than you can lose and don't pledge for stuff you don't want. Anything else is insanity, man.
Well, yeah, that's the problem. To quote Queen, "I want it all." If I was only interested in a few figures, I'd wait and see if the project made and snag them when they were ready to purchase.
I want the figures, I want the fodder, and stuffing a bunch of money into a shotgun and shooting it at my computer is the most economical means of getting them right?
It's the whole sunk cost fallacy, I know that. But being aware of it doesn't make it any easier, especially when it's the toyline I wish I was making. It's a rabbit hole of bad logic over a superfluous and emotional want.
