Hi everyone!

Last week or so I posted a jeep I had been using to practice my techniques on before moving to one of my actual customs. This is the first on my list.

I always loved Spiral Zone and really felt that the Zone Riders and Black Widows could totally be GI Joe and Cobra subsets respectively. Instead of directly remaking the vehicles, I wanted to create some vehicles that would merge the two lines.

This is the Tread Smasher - a light weight, rapid attack tank used by the Black Widows to clip at the treads on heavy GI Joe and Zone Rider machinery in an effort to slow them down and allow for the placement of more zone generators.

Here is the finished pics. The figure is just a placeholder to show scale since I do plan on customizing some Black Widows.

Here is what the vehicle looked like before I started my work.

For reference, here's one of the Black Widow's vehicles so you can see the color scheme I was shooting for.

So, how did I do? I had a ton of fun and I'm still learning and would gladly listen to any pointers/suggestions :)

Thanks! :)

The base vehicle is pretty sweet! It's actually from a Kid's Connection Military set from Wal-Mart. This vehicle and the jeep I practiced on were in a pack for $5. I found another one last week, so I might make another one of these.

My next vehicle is going to be an attempt at a "salvaged" Rimfire that Overlord will use after Dirk Courage left it abandoned in the Zone after a mission gone wrong. I've been hanging on to a vehicle for a few years to make this and am finally getting the nerve to start customizing :)
