Hey all -

Thought I'd share something I whipped together after re-watching Doctor Strange the other day:

Movie Mordo is a slightly doctored Blind Master with some new lower legs, a new sash/belt and targeted paint apps. The head started as a placeholder, since the character didn't have much facial hair in the movie, but I really like the look of the beard and 'stache on Strange's inevitible nemesis. Gives them kind of a photo-negative symmetry:

Here they are squaring off with my custom Dormammu:

What do you guys think?

i'm not familiar with the characters, but as always your figures are superb!

that dr. head has a real "artist formerly known as" prince look to it.

Thanks. He's a little obscure, I suppose. But I suspect he'll play a more prominent part in future MCU films.

In the meantime, my daughter got very excited about an Agents of SHIELD promo she saw and asked why I never made any of the characters from that show.

I told her I was trying to stick to movie characters for now, but she promptly reminded me that Phil Coulson had been in a bunch of the movies.

So I made this:

Phil.jpg

And of course she insisted that if I was going to have Phil, I needed his cavalry/girlfriend. So I quickly dashed this together:

Here's a shot of them with my other MCU SHIELD characters and customs, including a couple of generic male agents, Director Fury, a very lazy Maria Hill and Sharon Carter:

I like how you brought better proportion to that mib? figure, or maybe it's just the jacket? recipe :)

That is movie Lady Jaye's head on my Maria Hill (which is funny, because the actress who played movie LJ also played Bobbi Morse on Agents of Shield, but the head looks nothing like her).

Phil's body down to the knees is all an MIB figure. I brought in the coat a little bit to make his torso less boxy and swapped on some knees/lower legs froma comic pack Shipwreck, then gave him some RoC Destro (TRU 3-pack) feet. His head was Ric Ollie, I believe, from Star Wars with some added hair (green stuff) up front.

Nice work Spin. Even funnier on the movie LC head, is I was able to get a decent likeness of Peggy Carter using the same face.

Also, there are some nice movie sculpt heads for Coulson out there, but you made a nice likeness.

Thought I'd take advantage of the last Sunday of 2017 to post my counterpoint to my last update before the new year hits:

Viper (aka Madame Hydra) was a bash together of the new lady Cobra the club gave us a few years back (can't remember her name, but she had an eye-patched red-haired head that I used to make Molotov Cocktease from the Venture Brothers) and the original MU Enchantress (which the recent Ragnarok 2-pack rendered obsolete). Her head is an FF boxed set Sue Storm with She Hulk hair.

I gave her swivel elbows to add some much needed articulation for when she's negotiating alimony payments with Logan.

And I painted the upper body to match the Joe figure legs, which I thought were already a nice complement to the rest of my comic-inspired Hydra forces.

What do you think?

well Madame Viper's colors don't seem to be repainted so I assume it is the same lime green color of the original's

rocking man. Love that head on the Baron too. Rancor keeper is a great likeness to Donald Pleasance, and now you have an implied HYDRA-SPECTRE alliance I won't be able to shake

Thanks all.

So as obsessive as I am about my DC Batman customs, I've come to realize Iron Man has the same effect on me.

As such, I've spent the last couple of weekends bolstering the ranks of Tony's Hall of Armor.

First, one I always intended to do but never thought I'd finish:
Attachment:
Thorbuster.jpg
Thorbuster.jpg [ 101.53 KiB | Viewed 1214 times ]

Thorbuster incorporates the arms and legs of that crummy Destroyer figure we got from the Thor movie line with a torso and (modified) head from an Iron Man that seemed stuck between scales.

Rather than making one slavishly accurate to its comics appearance, I made mine a meld of the MCU aesthetics with the comic idea, which makes him a perfect complement to my Thor:

Thorbuster2.jpg

And while I was in Tony's workshop, I decided to whip up a repaint that reflects Iron Man's Marvel Now appearance from a few years back:

Something about that black and gold color scheme just really does it for me.

What do you guys think?

I dig me some Iron Man armor.

I feel like Thorbuster could use a little more red, especially in the lower body. Or maybe some silver. Something to break up all that gold. The build is solid and looks good next to Thor.

I want to say they made that Black and Gold armor in the 4" line. I know it is in the 6" line, I have it. That said, yours is spot on and I like it.

Good point on the Thorbuster. I thinkm in the comics he had some red on the hands. I'll work on that.

As for the 1:18 black and gold IM, I couldn't seem to find one anywhere except the Civil War 2-pack they put out using the mold from the Avengers Assemble line. I thought about just buying that, but I really wanted one that would fit better with the movie-style armors in my HOA:
