I just don't understand the point of a reboot. Just have Cobra and the Joes already established, throw in some explosions and some delightfully cliche dialogue and you've got a show.

That's how Sunbow did it and it worked out pretty well.

Retaliation was pretty much dead on. Could ask for them to do much better. Probably could have done with a little less killing of main characters and quite a few characters that were missing but was a good flick.

No, I liked it a lot more than RoC as well. I feel like comic fans probably like Retaliation better, and cartoon fans probably like RoC better.

Never read the comic but watched the cartoon religiously and it was nothing like ROC. While ROC may or may not have been good, it had absolutely nothing to do with GI Joe.

ROC was essentially the reboot they are saying they want to accomplish with the 3rd movie. In otherwords when it comes to rebooting GI Joe for the younger generation, been there and done that and the reboot required a reboot. LOL

Nanomites eating the Eiffel Tower is certainly cartoony, as are the accelerator suits.

I do not care about the plot (well I do but I am alright with it being way out there sci-fi). The problem with ROC was the charters were so far off. Retaliation was true to character mainly or at least true enough. The fans watched the movies to see all of their favorite characters in live action. When only a couple of those characters are true to form it is a let down for fanboys. It is a reboot not aimed at fanboys. I expect the next one to be as big of a letdown as the first one was but if they can make something that draws the next generation in and build on that. Then I will learn to be a fan of the future of Joe.

I only saw a couple episodes but I thought the renegades was pretty good, both story and representing a the characters. it would be cool to see that story line get a movie.

Thanks, now I'm always going to be disappointed Karen Gillian isn't Scarlett. Though I think she could also make an awesome Zarana.

The mini sub-battle as well. The first movie was totally riffing off the cartoon.

Hugh Jackman as Shipwreck... and add Betty White in there somewhere, it doesn't matter just anywhere. Can we start a campaign to make that happen.

I was thinking more like the President of the United State, Zartan could shape shift into her.
