Something occurred to me looking at some Toy Fair pictures from ToyArk. This is RYU from the Street Fighter video game series. Hasbro is making a 4" scale figure of him as part of a new entry in their "Marvel vs. Capcom" line of action figures.

First of all, I think this is the first Street Fighter figure Hasbro has made in close to 25 years -- ever since they had figures from the Street Fighter II video game and movie, which were based on G.I. Joe molds.

Which brings me to my second point -- is it just me, or does this Ryu figure look a WHOLE lot like a modern-style G.I. Joe version of the character?

I would like to see a Streetfighter line again, but I have no interest in starting to collect another line of figures only to see unobtainable exclusives and out of sight prices.

Put them out there so people can get them, get extras if they want, and support the line...

The upper body appears to be more Marvel Universe than GI Joe, bicep swivel and seperate neck piece with the up/down-swivel in it. Possibly a modified Punisher head with the bandana. Then again this could be more mockup than production version. This pins in the ankles tell me this isn't quite ready fore release just yet.

I like the stature much better than the huge muscular versions.
