The first portion of our race consists of a 2.5 mile closed-loop asphalt track with 4 left turns per loop and a section for pit stops.

Racers will attempt to complete 500 laps.

Racers on on their bikes and the crews have left the track ... the flag is up ...

17 Racers hover on the track ... anticipation mounts ... the sound is almost unbearable from the track and also from the stands ...

there are some knowing looks between the Red Laser team ... and some odd hand gestures? And what is up with the synchronized head movements with Team Superbeasto?

WAIT ... THERE'S MOVEMENT ON THE TRACK ... ZALEK IS JUMPING THE GUN .. HIS JET WASH IS MOVING OTHER RACERS OUT OF POSITION !!

NOW IT LOOKS TO BE THAT RED LASER IS HITTING ZALEK FROM BEHIND -- WHO IS ACTUALLY MOVING HERE? WILL THERE BE A FOUL FLAG???

after a second flare up in his left engine, Hoecake has retired his bike to the pit. Everyone is thankful there were no injuries.

Literally, the Jacknife is spewing flames out of both engines, and has pulled into the pit area. Fire crews are on it.
