RAMJET SUPERMOTOENDURO TIMELINE:
2021- Global economy at an all time low, resources (oil, clean water, etc.) are running out, climate disasters rage across the globe.
2022- Tensions grow between the remaining world powers and alliances form:
North American Coalition (USA, Canada)
Greater European Coalition (western Europe from Portugal east to Germany)
Russoasian Confederacy (Eastern Europe from Austria east to Russia, China)
Australian Federation (Australia, New Zealand)
Mega Britannia (England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland United)
Brazilia (all of South America united under Brazilian rule)
The Second Aztec Empire (Mexico, Central America)
Democratic Federation Of Korea (North Korea, South Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia)
Japan remains independent and flourishes due to extremely high technology level.
Most of Africa collapses due to famine and disease, South Africa becomes dominant power on the continent.
Iceland, Greenland and other extreme northern/southern lands become too cold for life, residents either flee to warmer climates or freeze to death.
2025- Global war!
Short, limited nuclear exchange – all missiles launched mysteriously converge on 2 locations:
Central America is completely destroyed separating North and South American continents by an almost 1000 mile gap (referred to as the “New Panama Canal”).
The Australian Outback is a radioactive wasteland (called the “Radback”) full of dangerous mutants.
After the first volley, all nuclear weapon facilities mysteriously shut down preventing additional launches. True believers claim this was due to Divine Intervention, conspiracy theorists blame UFOs, others believe that hackers shut down the military computers. To this day, no one really knows what happened.
Conventional warfare rages for the next 6 months, heavily damaging infrastructures worldwide and inflicting massive casualties. Several of the Coalitions are devastated, those that remain after the war are broken shells of their former selves.
2026- Reconstruction:
Due to economic troubles before the war, most countries cannot afford to rebuild on their own so deals are made with a handful of powerful corporations to fund the recovery:
J.MichaelsCorp
P-Luv Bio-Tech
Spectre-Tech
BindyCom
Krink Inc.
2035- Earth returns to some semblance of normalcy.
Global communication networks, including the internet, are reestablished.
Electrical power is restored.
Commerce restored.
The corporations supplant the world governments. National boundaries become symbolic as the world unites under the corporations’ rule. The corporations, and those that work for them, become insanely rich- much to the ire of the rest of the world’s population.
2036 – Class warfare:
The gap between the minority rich ruling class and the majority poor is EXTREMELY wide. The poor threaten to revolt. The rich propose using violent games to pacify the unruly poor.
Gladiatorial arenas are established along several genres:
Automotive battles involving suped up “Deathcars” (discontinued due to fuel shortages).
Small scale military engagements between corporate sponsored units held in massive arenas and streamed on the internet (deemed too expensive and discontinued after a few years).
One-on-one battles between individual gladiators.
Corporate sponsored robot battles.
2040- RAMJet technology introduced to the world by J.MichaelsCorp and Spectre-Tech.
Initially developed for the military use.
Utilizes a revolutionary and easily synthesized fuel.
Combines traditional jet propulsion with newly developed anti-grav technology.
Becomes incredibly popular, first as a plaything for the rich, then embraced by the masses as underground RAMJet races begin appearing across the globe.
2047- Corporate Sponsored RAMJet Racing Established.
Introduced as an opiate for the masses.
Broadcast worldwide on the newly established “Omni-Net”.
The masses do not embrace the clean cut corporate employed racers. The sport begins to take off when one of the racers pulls a “dirty” move and intentionally causes another racer to crash.
They corporate racers are quickly replaced with violent racers from the underground circuits and the sport explodes in popularity. Races become extremely violent, placating the unruly masses.
2048-2077 (present) Technological/sociological developments.
Global weather control satellites launched preventing hurricanes and other disasters.
Anti-grav miniaturized allowing for vehicles and drones of all sizes.
Holographic technology replaces traditional cameras.
Cybernetic limbs successfully attached to humans.
Cloning and genetic modification perfected by P-Luv Bio-Tech.
RAMJet “Death Races” debut (discontinued in 2067 due to protests against the violence by “The New Puritans”)
RAMJet Racers become celebrities.
Underground culture of “Cybers” (humans undergoing extreme cybernetic procedures) rises.
Underground culture of “Splicers” (humans undergoing extreme gene modification procedures) rises.
Underground culture of “’Mancers” (humans practicing “mystic arts” such as Necromancy) rises.
