Thanks, D.

I was pretty pleased with the way Iron Spidey turned out.

Here's another shot of my Ragnarok Thor and Hulk in action to show their relative scale:

drbindy, the Korg figure that came out was the comic version with yellow "skin" and the pointy comic style head.

Glad you guys dig Hulk. A lot pf work but worth it.

The hammer is a very cheap replica of what he (and later Thor) wielded in the movie. That and the Axe were the only appropriately scaled parts of a bootleg Chinese Hulk that I thought might make a good base figure (it doesn't). But considering it was only $6 shipped I'm not regretting the purchase.

So my son's been challenging me lately by calling out characters from the movies that I probably would never have otherwise tackled.

A while back he asked me to do Cull Obsidian, to which I promptly said "Who?"

Then we rewatched Infinity War and I realized he was talking about Black Dwarf (who was renamed for the movie fro some reason?). And I thought "okay - that's not going to be easy."

It wasn't.

The base body was a HALO figure - a brute of some kind - and it took some engineering to get his lower arms (which I liked for the big ol' bracers) grafted onto some spare 2008-era Hulk arms. The head is mostly green stuff and some legos bashed onto a 2008 Abomination head. The axe was sitting in my weapons box.

Here's how he stacks up against his boss, size-wise:

And here's a shot based on the park battle from early on in the movie:

Thoughts?

Well, hell - now I know what I can do with that giant box of old Halo figs sitting in the corner.

Looks great, Spinny!

Damn, your kid sure knows how to throw down the gauntlet, yes? Great job adapting a Halo figure into a truly menacing alien foe for all the 1/18 scale heroes in your collection.

I love the figure. I'm wondering it a Lego Bionicle might give you more of the movie version's chaind pick axe.

I found an Infinity War Hulkbuster figure on a clearance end-cap at Target the other day and for the first time realized just how much that character design had changed since Age of Ultron.

So of course I grabbed it and started trying to figure out how to better articulate and repaint it for use with my MCU customs. Here's how that turned out:

The legs are off a spare Chinese Hulkbuster bootleg I bought to effect some modifications to my standard AoU Hulkbuster custom. I had to modify them to make them fit the IW Hulkbuster torso and really had to jury rig the joints inside to make them stable. Here's a side by side shot of the two Hulkbusters so you can see the differences:

And here's a last shot of the IW Hulkbuster (imagine an overwhelmed Bruce Banner inside) going toe-to-toe with Cull Obsidian, who's sporting a new weapon thanks to a suggestion from pluv:

What do you think?
