I'm still amazed that after almost 20 years as an adult collector, I still find new things. Yesterday I was looking at Bulletproof's file card and noticed that his last name is Morris. I was reminded of Heavy Duty having the same last name. Turns out, they also have the same birthplace.

It is possible. There were a couple of similar names like that. C.O.P.S. Checkpoint's real name is Wayne R. Sneeden III, which was Beachhead's name minus the III.

Roadblock is related to Heavy Duty II (Herschel Dalton, from the VvV/Spy Troops era)

Then Grunt and Ripcord must be related, since they are both from Columbus.

Barrel Roll and Red Spot are from Cincinnati.

Zap, Backblast, Tunnel Rat, and others are from New York City area.

There are plenty of JOEs from the same city, doesn't mean they are related.

Considering there is that rule about having same family members in the same war, I think the birthplaces are spread out enough that the various JOEs didn't interact with each other prior to military service. Maybe there might have been school activities (concerts, sports, etc) which they may have attended, but that is more of a in the same building/stadium kinda thing.

I think there are only a few cases where there is direct relationships. Barrel Roll/Bombstrike and Storm Shadow/Jinx, to name two. I just checked every Heavy Duty file card and there is no mention of them being cousins, only that Heavy Duty was trying to follow in the footsteps of Roadblock by being the Heavy Machine Gunner and aspiring chef.

I just think the odds are so high to have two close family members joining the military and being selected to be part of an elite military unit.
