RamJet Reporter: “The lead pack has makes landfall on the coast of unclaimed territory. It was once given to the CRIP before it was used as a toxic waste dump and landfill for several hundred years. Now the huge peninsula is absent of humanity. There are rumors though that this is where krink inc. "acquired" their giant swamp ape mascot "Darwin". Indeed they encounter giant apes and enormous rad slugs! GOLDEN IDOL attempts to make a move on DRAGULA but isn’t able to get around him. SHADOW CYCLE and SHADOW WING try to take out the struggling GREY GHOST who narrowly dodges an ape hand that sends the TEAM RED SHADOW riders flying.

“The river basin group is barreling down the valley. The arid soil has been replaced with an oil sheened sludge. Watch your intakes! Too late! ARCLIGHT HAMMER and SHADOW BLADE are spewing black smoke as STINGRAY fills their void. GYREJET must be still suffering side effects to his stablizers from the sand worm slime, ran through the rotting carcus of a rad slug slowing them down even more.

There are gas pockets bursting and burning as far as the eye can see. RamJet Corporate has requested that the riders make stop in Northeast Tejas to retrieve a chemical formula from their research team, and bring it all the way to IROK, with all the promised pomp and circumstance awaiting them for an official race ceremony.”

RamJet Reporter from RamJet Central: “Upon arrival over Tejas we discover the same scene that has played out in every population center thus far. The formula is being prepared in a laboratory stronghold, behind a high block wall with razor wire on top and burning corpses strewn around its base.”

“DR. ROBERT STRANGE wearing full HAZMAT suit, greets the riders to and directs them towards decontamination and bio scan bike wash. BOOGIEMAN sets off the alarms and as lab personnel surround him and the emergency barricades lock him in. More on this story as it develops. Right now, all of the racers have lined up to have their bikes retrofitted to carry the chemical formula back to IROK”

“AVE here, hovering above a compound on the Tejas coast. All emergency omni-net channels are down. pluv inc. has been silent for hours. There has been talk among my crew and some rider support crews that a cure may be in hand at this facility. Fingers crossed.”

“The riders take possession of large locked metal briefcases. If that is indeed the formula, it will need to be extracted, purified, and mass produced as soon as possible or I fear humanity may be at an end. What's in the case? Rumor was that it was just the formula, but we’re getting official word now that they also hold a strand of the original viral stimulant before it mutated into a necrovirus.”

“We have received word from Tejas officials that RamJet racers are no longer welcome in Tejas airspace. The riders take off north in attempt to circumvent the AC where conditions have deteriorated so much that the only resistance at the border will be by unmanned drones.”

Several racers used the restart to their advantage and got a good jump off the line, including Iron Griffen who is now leading the pack. The Silver Streak is now in the rear with Dragula still nowhere to be seen.

The coast has now turned to urban sprawl so all the riders proceed with caution. Either there is no one here or they are truly sheltering in place. No power in the cities means as the sun sets the buildings beyond our lights disappear. AVE, tell us what you’re sense of it is out there.”

AVE: “I am still traveling just above our racers. At this part of the race, with a lot of land to cover and a lot of room to move I expect the riders to begin to fan out. No one wants to be in a tight formation once they reach the mountain passes.”

RamJet Corporate message to riders: “Attention RamJet riders! You are all doing great and the ratings are better than ever. We here at RamJet want to make clear that all the rules of RJSME are in play. Any infected being is not considered a civilian, but part of the course.”

“We would also like to add the winner of this race will receive a 10x credit bonus. The official finish line is the RamJet corporate office memorial raceway garden. In addition to the winners bonus, there will be a 100x sponsor credit for the rider or team who crosses the finish line first with the case curtesy of pluv inc.”

AVE: “Golden Idol opens up full throttle upon hearing the announcement and overtakes Iron Griffen, as does the Stingray to jump ahead of a splintering pack. Firebreather, back over dry land, decides to bump into Shadow Wing, Arclight Hammer, Shadow Blade, and First Class on his way by them causing minimal structural damage, but damage none-the-less. We just received word from Tejas that Boogie Man has received the all clear to continue and his bike has been refueled with Proud Sponsor of the RamJaet races, Blue Shell rocket fuel. That sonic boom you just felt was Dragula getting back in the race.”

“AVE here again. We are using the trackers installed in the vaccine formula cases to follow the riders as the spread out over the vast wasteland of central AC. Our riders are dealing with dust devils, lava fields, and thunder fog just to name a few perils, as well as, rad bears, rad bats, wild rad cats, and of course the sandworms who are all indigenous to the wasteland.”

“Whoa, Dragula just barreled under our vessel! I'm not sure how he escaped from that ghoul Dr Frankenweeni! He’s saddled up next to the Thunderkiss bike giving Suicide Tank some protection in the back of the pack”

AC official warning: “All kmarts and costcos have been procured by the authorities. Looters will be shot. All top government officials have been airlifted off planet to ensure that AC will be rebuilt. No further inssstrctmrrr-*static*”

“Golden Idol maintains the lead with Hellracer managing to move ahead of Iron Griffen. Black Nova is now out in front of The Stingray and D.E.S.T.R.O.K.. Grey Ghost and the Shadow Cycle have pulled up on either side of Suicide Tank and looks like they are going to make a move of some kind. The SAS hornet had a rad bear knock the viral vaccine formula case off the back of her bike. Scarlett[b] is pulling around to grab it, dodging rad cats and cats as she heads back through the smoke and debris of the racers following behind her… OH SNAP! She just smacked right into the [b]Rameleon and Silver Streak. They are all off their bikes. Hypnonaut just got stabbed with something Zartan was holding as Scarlett scrambles to grab the case. Zartan is back on the Rameleon and off he goes. Scarlett/b] jumps on the [b]SAS hornet and is steering with one hand as she holds onto the case with the other. Until she gets that case reattached, that is going to hurt her steering abilities. Hypnonaut looks like he’s finally shaken off the former Ninja Force assassin’s blow and is back on the Silver Streak. Slow motion replay shows it was kind of...arrowhead?”

“AVE here hovering far above as night descends upon the wasteland. Shadow Cycle makes a sudden dart that veers the Suicide Tank into the Grey Ghost. The Suicide Tank’s stabilizers are loose and he’s has to make a stop. Grey Ghost must have jostled something loose because Ghosthawk is checking things over as well. Meanwhile a few other racers have decided to stop and rest. The stopped riders are reporting they are hearing "white noise" in the distant barrens. It isn’t screams but moans, thousands of moans. Here on the broadcast ship we switched to thermal and infrared imaging. It is herds of bodies standing bunched together as a single heat signature.”

“Cheetah has deployed the Iron Griffen’s drone to stand watch over the group. The same herds pass about every 50 miles in all directions. Too many dead to take on alone.”

“Several riders are traveling on through the night including our leaders Golden Idol and Hellracer. If they survive the night, at their current speed and course they’ll have the mountains to look forward to come dawn.”

“Good morning RamJet Race fans! AVE here bringing you all the RamJet action! Our campers packed up early and all the riders have made it to the foothills of the mountains. Here the mid and rear packs have broken off following different paths some choosing the direct route up while others take less steep paths. The Lead pack is already up and over the summit facing some serious freezing overnight temperatures. Black Nova who had earlier problems with his intakes is having trouble keeping up with the group. We are hovering just above a cluster of resorts and compounds that should be vacation destinations for the ultra rich and powerful. Yet we see only more carnage. The snow around the buildings is stained black and red, torn appendages litter the ground.”

“The racers attempting the left most Southern route through the mountains have discovered an ice wall preventing them from continuing further. They are turning back around to attempt one of the other routes and have lost a lot of ground.”

Revenge of the Man-Made Monsters

RamJet Race HQ: “Several hundred miles west and our race leaders are surrounding a weird scene. Thousands of bodies, both human and animal, the visceral and the skeletal, the dead and the refusing to die, waving rhythmic in rows like the tendrils of some floating sea creature. All of them facing west. Facing the gleaming steel city of New Vejas. The racers are flying over head the writhing mass, who are mostly unaware with the exception of anyone in Firebreather’s path. The masses appear to be focused on some sort of giant arcing blue light perched high upon a tower. Beneath is a sea of dead rolling in waves, desperately climbing to reach the light. AVE, can you tell us your sense of it out there?”

AVE: “HQ there is a lot of interference with our guidance systems from the huge pulsing tower just ahead. Scans show that the steel tower was built by Spectre-Tech and is the tallest manmade structure in the AC! A tower to both project and receive all Omni Net, SatComm, and Dimensional matter transmissions. It also houses pluv.inc’s Western Division Headquarters.”

“What our scanners along with the trackers in the viral vaccine forumal cases show is that with only a few hundred miles to IROK, the riders are beginning to scramble. The Stingray has opned up all cylinders and just took the lead. He isn’t holding anything back at this point. There is a lot of jockeying in the middle of that pack, but the stragglers seem to be slowed down even more by the wake of the undead. At this pint it is any-”

RamJet Race HQ: “AVE?! AVE?! It looks like we’ve lost our connection. Satellite images show that the the tower was overtaken and buckled under the weight of 10,000 bodies. When we come back from break we’ll have a visual on our racers as they make a mad dash to the St. Andres River.”

D.E.S.T.R.O.K. just used my copyrighted Left-Left-Right-By-You manuever on Hellracer to pull into a tight third. I don’t know what Dr. What’s-His-Face did to Dragula but he’s making a move up through the pack. Every decadent vice is on full display as the racers barrel down the streets of Hollywood, *bmf ta bmf ta bmf ta* past open air bonfire raves, and *brown chicken brown cow* Go-Go dancers in hanging iron cages. This place has it all.”

“IROK civil authorities closed off access to the free highway for the oncoming speeding racers. Terrain dependent jets will have to stay on surface streets as the leaders fly right over the erected concrete blockade.”

“AVE here at the Ramjet Corporate Memorial Gardens at the historic Kardashian Hotel Casino. The Hard Grape Soda is chilled and the crowd is electric as we await the winner of the “Cannibal Run". It looks like a celebrity crowd intermingled with the heads of industry.

“Lance *cough*attentionwhore*cough* Sputnik is over there talking with pluv and The Real Hulk Hogan. Celebrity Chef Darren Howlett the III looks to be trying to get a spice recipe away from the Honorable Colonel Sanders. Noted author KuuKuuson, MechaBeav-Head-In-a-Jar, and Amazon Girl are talking with ZombieGuide (straight from his #1 hit movie PopTart Time Machine premiere). Hologram President Bartlett is preparing his welcoming victor speech.”

“I'm getting word that a small pack of RamJets is approaching from the South. The lead bikes are coming down the last straight away. It is too close to call. Confetti and blue crystals fill the air. Gas filled balloons fall all over the amassed crowds. The adrenaline is flowing through the crowd as they engulf the presumed winner! We haven’t gotten confirmation yet, but it looks like The Stingray won!”

“Johnny 'Daredevil' Blaze, how does it feel to survive the apocalypse again, to get the largest single race payout in history, to get the victory for the most widely broadcast RamJet Race ever, and to collect and deliver a formula to save humanity?!”

Johnny 'Daredevil' Blaze: “I’m more of a formula…protector. I’m just glad to have made it through and to deliver the gift that keeps on giving for all the fans!” *CHEERS*

Blaze, opens his case as do all the other racers, only to find no formula at all. Instead it is a video projected message from Dr Robert Strange.

Dr. Robert Strange: “Congrachulayshunz to all de razors for delivering my monzter toxin into de protected zonez. Muhahahahahahaha!” *BOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!*

RamJet corp. Internal Memo: Dr. Robert Strange played his role very well, but he has outlived his usefulness. The locked cases was the perfect twist to keep our trained monkeys on the ball. With our partners pluv inc. and spectre tech we have orchestrated the event better than we ever could have alone. More death, more life, it doesn't matter. It's just more credits to our bottom line...With similar towers placed in countries across the globe, we can create new markets at will.
