hmmm do you think Marauder fists would work as replacements?

You'd probably have to drill out the wrists - the way Hiya designed the joints (same with the Preds) is there's a tiny peg/ball joint jutting out from the arms, and the hands have tiny holes in them so you can swap them out. Not a solid connection - and a stiff breeze can pop the hands loose. I may end up trying to drill a hole in the arms later and stick some MU or Joe hands in there. I didn't want to do it with the Preds because of the uniqueness of the hands, but with these humans, it's easy to find suitable donor hands.

Yeah, Hiya wrists and ankles are problem areas they need to improve.

Got my BvS pair in yday and greatly like the improvements to the Hiya standard I see but feel they can still do better to really knock my socks off. I *very* much appreciate the rocker ankles and fabric capes, but the wrist balls gotta go. I still can't get excited about the Injustice design aesthetic, either.

Still not a big fan of the IJ design aesthetic, but this is a fantastic-looking figure:

The first IJ figures were kinda small/scrawny next to Joe's. I wonder if these will be a little closer in scale.

These figures have *nothing* to do with the DCDirect crapola of a few years back. Hiya's Batman and Supes are fine for minter-mixing with Joes.

The Supergirl body reminds me of Captain Marvel a lot. I wonder what the possibility of one of these companies getting the 4" Marvel license if Hasbro refuses to produce them. I wonder how it works with Mattel having the DC license, but Hiya being able to make these. Also Disney seems keen to make their own stuff and sell it in Disney stores. They had those 6 inch diecast Star Wars figures which seem to compete directly with the black series. I'm pretty sure Hasbro didn't make those. There was also the 10'' elite series and the Disney Toybox figures that Hasbro didn't create.

Something to hope for I guess.

I guess that's why I really don't like the new Capt Marvel costume.

Mattel no longer has the DC license.
DC gave Hiya a license just to make 1:18th scale figures from the Injustice 2 game.

Licensing works pretty much however the licensor wants it to work. Up until the past few years most licensors have simply given a toy company an overall 'master' toy license and let them produce whatever they felt they could make money selling. Now more American licensors are copying the Japanese model of giving multiple toy companies fairly 'niche' licenses that some times mean there are products that compete against each other for the consumer's dollar, like how Bandai is making 6" Marvel and Star Wars figures alongside the Hasbro offerings. Those are assumed to be targeted at different national markets but the Internet makes that largely meaningless nowadays. The licensor wins overall as they get double the license fees and the consumer wins by having more options.

IMHO, Hiya are trying to play things smart by first getting 'secondary' videogame licenses that hopefully put them in position to acquire a larger overall license once they start making some money; so hopefully we'll get some regular DC figures instead of the mostly-blegh Injustice outfits.

I flat-out hate the Batman. I've never been a fan of the pansy-ass baby blue and overlaying those colors on the not-good-in-the-first-place Injustice uniform is just god-awfully horrid, imho.

Red Supes is interesting and I'll see if I can get him.
