you really elevate new sculpt parts to another level! great sculpting and paint! amazing detail work from the hair to the knee pads! is the pistol a taser?

maybe a paint (pepper) ball gun instead of the hk, or even an orange furniture shotgun. a little extendable baton would be cool too :)

Thanks.

What's a "furniture shotgun"? I thought about painting the machine pistol on the right leg orange to show that it also some sort of non-lethal weapon.

sorry I jumbled that all up. I meant a shotgun with orange furniture (stock and forend) for less lethal use. bean bags, rubber buckshot, and I think they have some other "distraction" rounds.

i just saw this in the gallery and realized the shoulder holsters/pistols are not molded to the torso. I thought you had swapped torso's or chopped them off another figure. so the pistols are marauder, are they berettas? also how did you make the holsters? :) I really like this whole figure he reminds me a lot of a xmen character I have seen.

Glad you like the holsters.

They are Marauder, but I'm not sure what make/model, as they came in a big unlabeled lot.

To make the holsters, I just wrap the pistols with tape and add some additional tape "straps". The pistol/holster is one item when it's finished. The pistol can't be removed from the holster. Like the old Mego 1:18 CHIP's figures.

so just black electrical tape? there are cheap vinyl and more expensive tacky rubber types that really stretch. this might be an area heatshrink would work for you. shrink it to the pistol then apply your tape over the heatshrink. it should give a tight fit that is drawable. i'll have to try it out too. in the figure I showed you for boss fight contest I covered new sculpt holsters in heatshrink to hide where I cut them and give a double sided "sandwich" to glue together. heatshrink-holster- rexlace hanger- heatshrink all with super glue.

Thanks, sgcaper!

2DARK2C, it's the same tape (an artist's tape) used to make the shoulder holster. Light blue in the WIP photo. Does heatshrink stuff crack or warp over time?

I see the blue tape now when I open it in a new window. i'm not familiar with artist tape at all, is it masking tape?

I haven't been using it on custom figures long enough to know how it will hold up, but it should hold up very well. for the thinnest types maybe if repeatedly exposed to cold/hot or exposed to UV might start to crack. it's made to cover electrified wires permanently, but i'm sure there are different ratings. I used it in "handholes" butt splicing wires, and when that place floods they are under water.

2DARK2C, It's very similar to masking tape, but it doesn't tear as easily and doesn't stick quite as well. It's just a bit easier to work with. On a finished piece artist's tape and masking tape look about the same.

Troynos, Thanks! It means a lot to get the creator's "Seal of Approval". I figured that the Collector's Club would round out the Pulse characters for collectors. But since they didn't I had a lot of fun making the custom. Great character, by the way!

Very cool character design and just a really well executed custom. Love the work you did on the hair, especially.
