Yes the names are intentionally different from the actual product to prevent leaks just like this from spoiling the eventual reveals.

I heard about the Retro line before Toy Fair, but even right now no one really knows wat it means for product. The leading theory is o-ring. The fake codenames match up with some of the same placeholders from the 6" line. Considering those have become core characters, it wouldn't surprise if there was overlap.

I wish someone would. But I doubt anyone wants to spend the extra money (even if it is small) to make that happen when people seem perfectly willing to buy 5POA. Maybe someone will do it to set their retro apart. It really would be nice.

Those people buying retro 5 POA seem mostly interested in presentation over product. Make some often badly rendered retro figure but stick it on a Kenner-esque card back and somehow that's worth $18.

I like those Masters of the Universe style ones.

Scale was the number one reason I didn't get in to MOTU more as a child. We got the first wave or two and then lost interest.

I have gotten almost all of the Reaction MOTU figures, and VERY much look forward to the ThunderCats line when it finally hits.

Also for what it's worth, I open pretty much all of my Reaction figures and the few Reaction figures that I've kept carded, I also have displayed loose.
