I think you nailed the scale and the body for Smart Hulk. But the head reads a little too “HULK SMASH!” Hulk than Smart Hulk. I can’t think of a head with a more passive facial expression. But maybe smoothing out the hair will be enough to show this isn’t ragey Hulk.

This is great. Nice adjustment on the size.

So my son and I were watching deleted scenes from Endgame and had a pretty good laugh when Rocket Raccoon calls the Chitauri the worst army in the galaxy. Then my son brought down one of the Chitauri figures from our collection and we laughed even harder:

The lack of articulation (except at the ankles, for some reason)on these figures was ridiculous, especially given how long and unweildy their guns are. So we set about trying to fix the rest of his joints and here's where we ended up:

It was a ton of work, green stuff, glue and paint but we're pretty happy with it. Here's a shot with Thanos and an unmodded Chitauri (where oddly enough the lack of articulation on the right isn't as noticeable:

What do you think? Should we fix the other one, too?

that's pretty flawless! you matched/hid the mods to the figure so well i'd never of known they were not factory.

I've done the same with the one of these guys I bought. I sacrificed a Star Wars figure for the knees and elbows to turn mine into a Cobra-La Royal Guard, so I was able to hide some of the seams with paint. Great job on making yours look flawless. Such a shame that it was nicely sculpted figure with pitiful articulation.

So my 11-year-old daughter was looking through my MCU customs the other day and got pretty upset with me that I hadn't updated my old Winter Soldier custom to look more like his movie appearance (apparently she's got a pretty serious Bucky crush).

Given how important the character ultimately became to the franchise, I decided she was right and went back at him:

I also gave him an unmasked head, since that was the look he's rocked for the majority of his screen time:

And I went back and updated my WW2 era Bucky (new legs and arms) so he would be more in scale with his future self:

My daughter's definitely happier with it. What do you think?

looks great! he's bigger than I thought! at first glance I thought the new version had snake eye legs, but the older one has road block, the biggest rb, legs!

I had one of the poor articulated factory versions, you pushed him so much. bigger, badder, better.

Glad you noticed. Sizing was important for this guy (and that older Bucky figure I modified). The factory version was stubby.

Here's a shot of him in the context of the other Avengers from the battle of Wakanda (minus the ones who showed up late) to demonstrate relative scale (Cap is one of my taller humans and Bucky seemed about a half-head smaller the first time they showed them together in Cap's first movie):

And pulling together this group shot reminded me that I now have another Black Widow custom hairstyled and colored to look the way she did in Endgame:

Most of the body work was just adding red paint, but the head/hair is actually a combination of three different noggins:

Thanks for the comments.

Hi all. Long time since I've had a chance to visit, let alone customize (work's been busier the last two months than the whole second half of last year) but I have taken advantage of some of the quarantime to work on characters I've been meaning to get to.

As with most of my recent projects, Valkyrie was prompted by some shaming from my daughters, who noted that Val and Hela were both pretty important to Thor Ragnarok and I've made customs of all the dudes already. So I really felt pressured to do her movie appearance justice:
Attachment:
Valkyrie.jpg

The base figure is a 3.75 Marvel Legends Gamora witha bunch of green stuff applied to the torso and a full-body paint job. The head actually started as a Sharon Carter from the Legends Civil War 2-pack. Her sword used to be Sif's but has been modded at the hilt and her cape is from a G.I. Joe trooper (circa the second movie).

Here's a comparison shot next to my classic comic Valkyrie (a parts-and-accessory swap onto the 3.75 Legends offering):

And here she is with the rest of the Revengers (and friends):

What do you guys think?
