I see that Valkyrie figure and the image of her strutting up the Rainbow Bridge towards the bad guys comes to mind.

Nice work.

Thanks, all, for the kind words and warm welcome back.
I should have a little more time for both customs and the board this week. Hela's on the bench already. So you'll be seeing/hearing a bit more from me and I hope to be able to say the same about all of you.

I’ve had a Valkyrie parted out but left untouched because I couldn’t find a head to do it justice. Would never have thought to use Sharon and yet it works perfectly here. Fantastic work.

While I wait on a decent helmeted head for the Hela I'm working on, I took on another challenge from my oldest daughter (who is pretty bummed that the new Black Widow movie is being delayed).

It's kind of funny, because I recently did a cartoon version of Taskmaster, but she really wanted to see one patterned on his appearance in the trailer. So here's how that turned out:

The base figure is a Fortnite character I picked up a while back. I mashed in some clone trooper arms, a Rise of Cobra Commander head and some scrips and scraps before painting him up.

Here's a shot based on one of the best glimpses we got in the trailer:

What do you guys think?

I've been torn on if Carbide was too chunky / cartoony to work with more realistic figures, but that looks awesome.

Thanks. I wasn't sold on it at first, but after the amount of effort it took to swap in those clone trooper upper arms and change out the hands on the Fortnite lowers (the plastic on those guys is dense), I was for sure going to try and make it work.

So Hela's still a WIP and not ready to share, but over the weekend I had a chance to pay tribute to another (far less memorable) fallen Thor movie villain:

Malekith benefits from the fact that G.I. Joe already used the actor's likeness for its movie Destro figure (Eccleston really needs a better agent or script reader or something). But that took a bunch of work to make the transformation into this character. For the body I was considering just using one of the factory Dark Elf figures, but it didn't distinguish him enough from his minions. So I looked to Boss Fight studios. Here's how he looks in context:

And one more shot showing the scarring on the right side of the face:

What do you think?

really great looking troop of baddies! i need to track down the predator looking guy in your last pic, the details of your leader are really well put together. i can't get a clear enough view of the burnt? side of his face though.

Man, I dunno what you guys are thinking if you're not thinking Carbide is one of the absolute best brick/mortar 18th figures ever sold. Everything just works as it's supposed to, and I'd pray to any god that could get the entire IM2 line redone on his buck instead of them verdammt Hasbro movie hips.

That's only one of the reasons why Tasky is so dang nice, tho. A lot of simple choices and touches add up to a fantastic figure, mate.

Malekith I don't like only because it's so much better than my own.
