This one was a rough make.

I originally started with a Ragin Spoon body and added Marauder Skeleton arms legs and head.

And it looked like the Red Shadows used the skeletal remains of Heather O'Rourke from the Poltergeist films...ie...it was VERY short.

Too short.

Uncomfortably short.

So I swapped that out for a Star Wars Battle Droid...yes its backwards, but it works better.

Its still a bit shorter than an average 4" figure (about a head shorter).
BUT it worked better than the Spoon body (no run down on Spoon, its just not meant to go together).

I also reason (cause I'm trying to give myself motivation that this makes sense) that a human skeleton would be less in stature minus its meat.

The result is fairly decent...odds are its better than decent but I only feel 95% happy with it...still...

it's interesting! i got to go look up some source pics. could you add some metal armor here and there to bulk up the skeleton parts?

I could...but the original is little more than an android body with skeleton limbs, so I tried to stay close to true.

If alternate ideas pop up I may take a second swing at it down the line as I'm not totally satisfied.

What it is you're not satisfied with?

If it's the height, you could chop the torso in half, pop in another chunk of Battle Droid torso to make it taller.

But, honestly, I don't think it needs it. This is damned good work.

Basically yeah...but its growing on me.

You know how it is...you get an idea in your head...you make it, and look at it and only see the flaws no matter how well it turned out.

Mostly because your too involved in the project.

But once you step back and give it some time those doubts fade.

I feel the actual bones are...distracting.

I get it, I think, what you're trying to do.

Would mocking up robot appendages using sprue or other bare robot type arms/legs be an option?

I like the use of the Battle Droid body, but it just doesn't match the rest.

Well it pretty much is the dead on look of the original...

...but yeah the lack of bulk and height is a little disconcerning next to other figures. I sorta picture Joes walking up to them, laughing and then pushing them over.

I am playing with an alternate idea of using a B.A.T. body with a skull head. That will look less like the original...to be sure, but will at least solve the bulk and height issue. Which I think is something I'm gonna do anyway, but then its way less Skeletron and more...Skeleton B.A.T. which isn't such and awful idea, just a massive swing from what it was.

After seeing the pic, it's the human bones versus the not-human of the real figure. The real bones throw me off.

I'm wondering if some Rogue One K-2SO limbs would give height. Might be to thin and tip-over-y. Maybe cut and trim the arms to size so they don't look spindly?

Your design is definitely creepy!

I like it.

I did one a few years back but leaned more towards it being an actual robot because it fit my "Universe" better.

I like the skull bat a lot.

What figure(s) did you use spec?

The original looks like it could be all robot just styled as a skeleton to instill fear.

It is a repainted "Star Wars" Build-A-Droid called YVH-1. It is from the novels and was designed to mock the biological technology the Yuuzan Vong used.
